Endeavouring to add HomeBase, received message " Unable to add Homebase.
Removed microSD card, pressed CYCLE button to restart and have waited four hours for HomeBase to automatically update itself. Unfortunately the Homebase is not updating, it does tell me “HomeBase is ready for setup” but alas I get the same message repeated "Unable to add Homebase etc.
Eufy Cam HomeBase
Hi @Hibbs , are you getting a specific error code or just unable to add Homebase?
Have you tried powering off the Homebase fully for several minutes & re-installing the Eufy Security app on your device before attempting to add the Homebase again?
It just appears to be the final hurdle, I’m told that the Homebase is ready, but when I try to add the Homebase as a device on the phone app, I get the following warning " Unable to add HomeBase, sorry HomeBase needs to be automatically updated. Then gives 3 instructions, pull out microSD card, press cycle button to restart HomeBase, then told that HomeBase will automatically update itself within 1.5 hours.
Will try your suggestions, powering down and re-install app.
Cheers Hibbs
Removed plug from the HomeBase for 5 minutes, reinstalled app on phone. Same result, HomeBase ready but when added as a device, error message “unable to add to HomeBase, HomeBase needs to be automatically updated”
Try this, unplug the base and ethernet cable. If possible reset your router and once that boots up, plug the base in and plug the ethernet cable to the router and base. Wait approximately 2 minutes, go into the app and add the base, follow the instructions and since you already have gone through a few of the steps the next one should be pressing the sync button until you hear it beep back at you. Click next in the app and it should enter into discovery mode
Had similar, if you leave for around 30 minutes to allow update, you should be able to proceed to adding.
Many thanks for assistance, HomeBase now added as a device, although it took a further three attempts to have the software updated. No problems with adding the cameras and the whole system running smoothly.
Glad to hear you’re up and going at last
Setup is often smooth as silk but sometimes it can fall on the side of sandpaper instead
