Hi everyone,
I’ve been suffering with the Eufy Doorbell not responding when we get visitors - especially when I’m away from the house. It would always just get stuck in a cycle of “trying to connect to doorbell” and then would either crash out with an error message or still be trying to connect for over 5 mins and by then the visitor/delivery would have left.
Anyway after months of back and forth with Eufy Support (really helpful btw), I finally figured it out! So thought I’d share with the community in the hopes that someone else will benefit from the solution.
Turns out that Virgin set their router (box for the internet) to push out both 2.4Ghz and a 5Ghz signal for the Wi-Fi with the same name & password for both. This confuses the Eufy products! I had to log into the admin section of the router (you’ll find the password on the bottom of the router) and you can either disable the 5GHz signal or you can change the name and password that either the 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz signals use so that the Eufy devices do not get confused.
Really hope this helps others! It’s been working perfectly for us since I fixed this. If anyone gets stuck with the process for going through this, feel free to drop me a private message and I’ll try and guide you through this or contact Eufy Support - they were really helpful for me.
Good luck
