Hoping someone can help me out or point me in the right direction. 2 days ago, my base station on my eufy cameras just stopped saving the recordings. Prior to that, it would record all the moments. The memory card is less than 7% used. I’m wondering why it just stopped recording for no reason. Has anyone had the same issue?
Eufy base not recording
Hi @Ads_Eufy
Supposed you have the latest version of the app and homebase firmware and cam firmware, have you checked the settings/configuartion of your cams?! Be sure that it is set to “Record Video” if motion is detected. Can only show a german screenshot of the correspondig settings page, but i am sure you will find it in your app:
(Video aufzeichnen means Recording Video)
If this is set correctly and still not recording i would recommend to format the SD-card (attention: all until yet recorded videos will be lost then!) and check if its working again. If not, last help would to restart the Homebase. You can softly do it inside the app or the hardcore version if you unplug the power (you will hear a notice that the homebase runs on backup battery now) and then press the little button at the backside of the homebase to turn it off completely. Wait 5 minutes and then plug in the power again to restart the Homebase.
Maybe and hopefully i could help?!
Hi @yamyam,
Thanks so much for your help. I will try the options you have suggested. The version of software I am running seems to be different to that of your version of software
I’m unsure of how to post the screen shots on here.
On there version of software, I am unable to see the option to record when motion detected.
I’m scratching my head to why all of a sudden it would stop recording motion.
I may need to reformat the card in the base station if all else fails. Will see if I can back it up on a separate external drive or just buy a new card.
Thanks again for your help & replying
To get to the setting that yam-yam is referring to you need to click on the bottom right “security “ button you should then see “home” “away” and “schedule “. It’s possible you may have inadvertently selected one of those where record video is not selected
Hi @Dad4,
Thanks for pointing me in that direction. I have checked and can see where yamyam was mentioning. All cameras have record on motion and push notifications enabled. I’m still stumped to why all of a sudden it has just stopped recording, it’s weird. Haven’t had any issues until now.
Have you tried a soft-restart or hard-reboot like i have explained to you above?
I sure did yamyam. It didn’t fix the issue.
It’s fixed now, I don’t know how I did it.
Took the as card out a few times, tried to format it however the base station wouldn’t allow me too.
Then the base station wanted me to set all the cameras up as a new install, but logging into the app, it went back to normal.
Since then all has been working as it previously was.
Happy to hear that your issue is fixed now and all is working as it should
