When I was on Android I always found Rocket Music Player app to be superior to any other audio app. Could easily playback lossless audio files and the premium version was only £1.99 to upgrade to. The free version could be worth a look for you…

Would you happen to remember which rocket player it was that you used. Unfortunately there is about 30 of them and the one i downloaded i was unable to set it as my default or use it in Spotify.
The free version I used was this one;
Can’t fully remember which features require the ‘premium’ unlocker as it’s been a few years since I’ve been on Android.
