Does anyone uses a iPad Pro for work?

Ok I know this is very off topic but I am thinking of buying the iPad Pro 11 inch plus Logitech keyboard case for work the 64gb model…
I am thinking of doing this because I originally wanted the dell xps 13 inch but the iPad Pro is more portable and cheaper
Anyone use it for what I want it for and how good is it for word ect?

These videos from Unbox Therapy should help you a good amount Alex.

Lew switched to it exclusively for 3 weeks and these are his findings.

Hopefully you’ll find them helpful in your decision making.

My work pc is a dell xps 13. To be honest I am not really a fan of it for my needs. Once all of the security stuff was loaded in and I started using it I noticed it hangs a bit and the battery sometimes drains too fast. If you dont get a mouse for it, the touch pad is super sensitive to the point you annoyingly select stuff ya dont want. That said, my company also employs several dozen ipads, when I borrow one to take photos and send off data its more intuitive and quicker. Depending on what work you do, both should work, but I would prefer an ipad (even the non pro) and a really nice tower at my desk over the $1300 dollar xps I currently have. The pricetag for the higher end xps (mine is only an i5) is not worth the performance imo.

That’s the problem with XPS laptops they are so damm exspensive

Personally I prefer the Microsoft Surface, while I don’t have one of my own, I did use one when I was selling cars for Kia a few years ago and it handled everything I needed it to and then some.

I’ve used the Microsoft surface pro 3, and I didn’t love it. It seemed to be pretty glitchy. I’m sure the new models work a lot better :+1:.

I’ve never used an iPad Pro for an extended amount of time. However I’ve used and owned several other iPads and loved them.

I didn’t like using them as a PC replacement at all. Software
Like word barely works on it, and is a pain to use. But maybe iPadOS will help with this?

That’s a point I forgot about that one but there exspensive

I used word on a iPad mini and I found it was great hmmm

Yeah it’s great, just not a great replacement for a PC

Tbh I own a Alienware but it’s 3.5kg so an iPad Pro would be perfect

Lol I figured via your profile pic :joy:

:joy::joy::joy: I know I like to put it on there so people don’t ask :joy::+1:

Your saying a surface is too expensive? Your other option is an iPad pro and a xps, both of which can be more expensive than the Surface. It’s all about how and where you buy it

Lol that’s what I was thinking :joy:

True never reaserched into a surface pro before I’ll look into it

I dunno if any of them are good pricewise, surface prosimilar specs to my work xps is $200 more. The gen 3 ipad pro is $900, so its less but the OS and usability are slightly different. I guess if you forego the “pro” model and get a remote desktop connection to a nice tower you would have best of both worlds. Its all too darn expensive anymore…

What type of work do you do? I have one and don’t use it that much even with the silly $100 rechargeable pencil.

mainly for typing ect using word power point a bit of gaming and watching moives to

I do have an iPad Pro 1st gen and Logitech keyboard. It’s a home one though. Not for work. Love it to bits. Super fast and does everything I need. The zip files thing is a pain in the butt something’s though lol
