Has anyone here review or owns any of this devices. I guess will have gopros since they have been around a lot longer. What are you thoughts in this items.
DJI Pocket, DJI action or GoPro hero 7
I don’t own any of them but I’ve been watching some reviews of the DJI Action and it looks a very promising action cam and has the ability to beat GoPro at it’s own game.
I don’t own any of these but watch action videos for these over Youtube… would love to buy these one of these days…
No, I don’t own any sadly. I would love the gopro hero 7 black! The quality and stabilization look amazing! That stability is simply astounding!
I watched some videos on the DJI action since others here seem so fond of it. It seems like an amazing camera, and as @Macgyver15 said, it may just beat gopro I’m this contest!
There are some advantages to all 3 but so far DJI action looks like the better option.
I’m becoming obsessed with the DJI osmo action camera… I think I’m going to get it when it goes on sale, or if I see a good deal on a used one lol
I have a GoPro Hero4 Black and a Hero5 Black. From what I’ve seen on youtube and reviews, the Hero7 has great video stabilization. The DJI Pocket is great if you want a true gimbal experience but accessories are kind of ridiculous in cost. That’s the main reason I held off when it was announced. But now that the DJI Action came out, I’m finding that it would attract more people because it’s more rugged then the Pocket and you can use GoPro mounts and such. So many longing for the Pocket has vanquished. Now, the Action is on my want list. I love the fact that the DJI Action has the dual screen, that’s a big selling point for me because I like to be able to compose my selfie shots. The Action also makes it easier to put filters on. Don’t get me wrong, the Action still needs some work but I think DJI is really putting pressure on GoPro to do better with their next line… they’ll probably add a screen next time around. And I think it’s funny that when DJI announced the Action for $349, GoPro had a sale on their Hero7 Black for the same price. Either way, a Hero7 or DJI Action… I’d be happy with. But seeing how I already have a GoPro Hero5 Black, I wouldn’t mind owning the DJI Action. Only problem with going with the DJI line, if I get rid of my GoPro… is having to buy new accessories that was made for the GoPro. I’ve invested in the GoPro eco system and would hate to have to buy all new accessories that can’t be used with the DJI Action Cam. Till then, I’ll sit back and wait awhile for perhaps the 2nd gen of DJI Action Cam. Unless there’s a big sale on it. LOL. There are a lot of Youtube videos that compares these 3 cameras. They all have their Pros and Cons, it all depends on how you are going to use it.
It seems that a lot of gopro accessories work with the DJI Osmo Action…
To your point, GoPro has been around a long time, but in the grand scheme of things, they haven’t changed much. The DJI Action is going to be in line with the Hero 7, however if you will be doing a lot of vlogs and more up close controlled filming, the pocket is amazing. Although i don’t own one, I have played around with them and have been involved with them in other ways and they are pretty cool tools.
Dji stuff is too expensive for me
Got a GoPro hero 5 though
Thanks for your inputs, I have fallow gopro for sometime now and I was considering buying a GoPro Karma (Their drone) But after seeing some reviews I realized they are not doing to good. Their drone division was closed, and economically they are struggling I guess DJI really are trying to put them out of business. I will probably will wait for the DJI Action to go on sale, I been buying accessories for gopro when I see them on clearance. But the stabilization and the front display are winners for me. But like I said once it goes on sale
Good choice in staying away from the GoPro Karma Drone. I think that they released it way too early, especially for a 1st timer in the drone game. They are still trying to recover from the loss. Remember when they recalled it and ended up giving away the Hero6? cameras for the inconvenience? They re-released their drone but by then, people have already given up and moved on to DJI and other companies. Besides that, I did not care for the size of the Karma compared to DJI’s selection of drones. Anyway, best to stay away from the Karma. Rather you get a new GoPro or the DJI Action Cam, I’m sure you’ll have a great time with them. I’m definitely considering the DJI Action Cam as my next action cam…especially if they go on sale. Then they will be even cheaper then the GoPros in general. As it is, the DJI is already about $50 less then GoPro Hero7.
