Hi there
I went to use my Anker E1 5200 powerpack and it was dead, just a single blue LED so left it on charge overnight and still just the single LED. Tried the reset with the cable and all the obvious like other cables and chargers but nothing. It is out of warranty but has had very little use. My other Anka product is an A1109 which is the same age and had even less use but is fine. Is there any known issues with the E1?
I will say that I am not using it as a charger for other products but as a power source for a Ublox GPS receiver and bluetooth transmitter that draws a total of 165mA, the A1109 being circular did not fit in the enclosure but the E1 being flat did. Having worked with batteries and chargers in the past I did wonder if the Anka products expect to see a certain load or V, I characteristics during use, ie as the other battery charges up and or they use constant current / constant voltage charging algorithms to inteligently charge another battery whereas my load is constant give or take a few mA.
I am buying a new one but with 6700 mAh capacity rather than the 5200 mAh capacity although it is not required but hoping for improved / different batteries.
Does anyone have any thoughts or similar experiences and could this just be a chemical issue where the batteries have given up through lack of use?
thanks Roy
