Consumable open API

According to the German Youtuber Andreas Schmitz, Ecoflow is about to release an official API integration for Home Assistant. It’s cloud based unfortunately, but hey, still better than Anker who did not even bother to reply to one of the most requested features here on the forum.

Cloud based is still a bummer and a no-go for me.

  • Demand one: official API
  • Demand two: local API

Anything else won’t receive money from me.

Still, nice to see (other) manufacturers at least go half the way meanwhile.

@bcutter As long as Ecoflow are the only ones with this advantage, they will relax on their success. If everyone has such an API, some of the companies will be inclined to go all the way with a local API. We need to keep pushing.

+1 for a local API!
The longer Anker holds back on providing an API, the more it feels like the ecosystem is meant to stay closed and with this pushing potential and existing customers for other products.

It’s very clear from all the feedback here that the community wants to build on top of Solix products. An open (ideally local) REST or MQTT API would unlock enormous value. Just do it Anker!

I bought the anker solix 3 pro and i am super pissed that I cant change a damn thing locally.
Im selling my Anker devices and going for a manufacturer that supports local API, unless this is not implemented soon.

+1 for local API as well for me.

The python unofficial api of Thom Luther works well but the anker cloud server is overloaded (a lot of http errors).
And what would happen if the firm disappears?
