I received my Kickstarted HomeBase + 2 cameras bundle today, but sadly I’ve not been able to get the HomeBase paired with my app yet. Both are connected to the same router, which is a German made AVM Fritzbox 7590, IP addresses are in the same subnet and the HomeBase confirmed that it has access to the Internet and is supposedly ready for setup. I have installed the latest version of the Eufy Security app from the Google Play Store following the URL printed on the little green Attention! card, that was in the box. I have created an account and confirmed my email address, then followed the instructions and voice cues in the Add New HomeBase setup. It gets to the point where the app displays the Serial Number of the base for a split second, but it then almost immediately says it cannot find any HomeBases on the network, which is obviously nonsense. I have also tried pairing the base using the QR code, but this too fails. Just to be sure I also switched my phone WiFi connection over to the other frequency (5GHz instead of the 2.4GHz band I’m normally on), also to no avail.
I have to say that this has been a very sad user and customer experience for me so far. The hardware looks and feels great and I had all the hopes that the setup would be a seamless process, but alas it really reminds me of the drama I’ve had with my Logitech Harmony, which is pretty much gathering dust owed to the software and setup being nothing short of a nightmare. I’m hoping you can help me here and fix this issue. Needless to say I will not accept having paid a couple hundred dollars for some paper weights.
