Cable-does not charge

Hey guys I have a another problem this time it’s with one of my cables when I plug it into one of my devices it says ‘not charging’ on my iPhone X. I am puzzled with this. The cable is the lightning cable power line 2 1.8m. I know that I can get a replacement just want some ideas of resolving this issue. Btw I have tried using a different port like my computer and different plug. Thanks.

That usually happens when there is a bad connection. I would email support@anker.com if it is still under warranty. or if its not.

Do you knwo how to fix this ‘bad connection’ issue?

I think you need a new cable it’s not really something you can casually fix to my knowledge

Throw it away. :pensive: It is very difficult to fix, and I have no idea, despite trying. It is a cable problem, and again, I would email support@anker.com.

Will do that now

I’m like asking anker for another replacement. Having asking anker for a new powerbank last week as my old one didn’t charge I have to ask them again. They’ll be like he’s spam! Lol

Take a look at your port where the cable plugs in, sometimes lint or other debris gets in there preventing a somid connection with the cable, so it reports not charging. I would also clean off the plug tip with a qtip and some alcohol and let it dry before trying again.

If your port is dirty you can clean it very carefully with a toothpick

This is a puzzle, I have the exact opposite experience.

I always did this:

  • try to eliminate the cause myself before I asked for anyone else’s help, I’d use multiple approaches to prove it was Anker’s product failing, e.g. bud failing try on two phones, cable failing try on 2 chargers, charger failing try with 2 cables and 2 devices, etc.
  • email anker with evidence I eliminated other causes, quote serial number and evidence of order.
  • I always got a warranty reply quickly, depending what day of the week in the hours to a few days reply.

If you done all of that already and no reply, then that is a puzzle and for sure should be escalated up.

I seconded this. Pocket lint eventually builds up in my phone’s Lightning port, so every few months I clean it out with a toothpick when I notice charging issues.
