Bluetooth Stereo Audio Music Receiver Adapter and Transmitter 2-In-1 Adapter and ue boom

I am having a problem with pairing an anker Bluetooth tran receiver as a transmitter (from a old ipod) with ue boom speakers. I get an immediate pairing sound on the ue boom followed by an unpairing… anyone else have this issue

Possibly due to different bluetooth revisions? According to the Anker website the adapter uses version 2.1, the Boom speakers might require a higher version.

What version of Boom speakers do you have?
