I use regularly 6 devices

  • Android smartwatch, using even more now as have a broken arm so less able solve issues two hands.
  • Oneplus6, I need this primarily for one handed all-functions and good camera, is more of an outdoor device moving.
  • Huawei Mediapad M5 LTE 8.4 this is use when two handed phone use is possible (not currently)
  • Huawei 10.8, this is travel laptop
  • ThinkPad, this is home laptop.

So for phones, they need to be uniquely better fit to the single handed usage, as tablets are better for larger screens. So I despaired at phones getting bigger, and I donā€™t need at home.

So imagine my glee when Apple announced the 2020 iPhone SE with small screen and low cost. Then the despair they designed it badly, a phone by definition is an outdoors device and they they put a dim display on it and a tiny battery. There was no need. Bright small screen optimized for outdoors use single handed is all a phone needs to be their top design criteria. You donā€™t need a fast CPU. Why is it not USB-C?
