Dude, what happened, besides the bike crash? Did you break a few things?

Holy crap Professor. Hope you are not in pain and I hope it heals nicely so you can go back outdoors.

I can imagine you saying to the paramedics:
“Yep I just got a broken leg. Hey! Let me grab my Anker powercore real quick”

Just trying to make light of the situation.

Wishing you a full recovery @professor :+1:

Hoping that the break was clean, and set well. Unfortunate circumstance, and wishing speedy recovery.

Complex open fractures. Waiting for theater.

Oh my God!!!
Poor Boy!
Not good news in the morning!

Damn :open_mouth: :grimacing: You’re not having much luck with the bikes this year @professor

Hope theater goes well and you heal quickly again :mask:

Just found out I’m having titanium rod inside and leg working immediately.

On bike soon I hope.

The irony was only had 2 beers and was riding slowly on flat but foot rotated by bike, the leg had done harsh mountain hiking and biking, yesterday did 60 miles hilly biking, was just bad luck rotating 2 minutes before back at campsite.

This is me, say tomorrow?

I obviously need to distract myself testing the Powercore III 10K wireless (milking the sympathy votes)

Good luck, old boy!

Oh no @professor - so glad to see you up and plugged in! Good luck in surgery, we are all thinking of you. See if they can add some power storage while they’re in there. Then you can just plug into your leg!

I’m impressed that you should be able to get back up and on the bike again so quickly! I would think a fracture like that would take longer. Titanium and modern medicine for the win!

Out of surgery.

They didnt amputate?
Lucky man!

Looks good.
You found some perfect butchers.

I know I am more than sarcastic.
Good luck!

(I am sure you will find a missing cable under the bandage after being removed!)

Glad you had your surgery @professor
You’ll be back on the saddle in no time, a trike maybe?

The dual 18W is perfect, I can’t move but two 6ft USBC cables means I have a good entertainment system on my lap.

Glad we all using reliable Anker, really helps ok what would be an otherwise bad experience. Last 24 hours I only had a short cable and had nurse moving Powercore to the wall and back to bed.

I think you should @professor
Obviously for medicinal purposes :+1:t2::beer::+1:t2:

People talk bad about the NHS, but everything I’ve heard makes it sound awesome.

If you self declare as an alcoholic in hospital in US they’d probably send you to jail

NHS fabulous.

 Americans of a certain political orientation talk about it like people are dying in lines trying to get service. But I haven’t heard many UK residents complain.

So you have a few forces merging together with the NHS, as it’s free at point of consumption (paid for in general taxation) it is used too much by some people when they should go to bed with a paracetomol.

The British are following the American habits of moving from human powered to sitting in cars and getting fat, causing obesity causing the diseases. I’d ban being fat (joking).

But UK NHS is costing half the % GDP of USA and UK life expectency is higher than USA because rationing forces the better value treatments to float to the top. I’ve been seen by a couple of dozen medical professionals last 24 hours, filled no forms, just name and DoB, had an operation, x-ray, CT, loads of pain killers, etc.

But I did pay in quite of lot $$$$ in tax (40% tax, 20% VAT) so it is still paid for. Anecdotally I added up how much I paid in USA mode Fed State Sales Insurance with UK PAYE VAT and the UK model is about 2% lower cost.

There are two types of Americans, those brainwashed and those who want an NHS.

100% agreed. I don’t mind paying taxes as long as I get services and infrastructure instead of weapons. I’ve been on a tear lately advocating public investment in broadband infrastructure. Whether you are oriented toward services for people or a servant of economic growth, this one should be a no brainer.

Anker core to my recovery. Two fellow ward patients one has too short a phone cable so loaned him my Powercore 10000 PD so he can use phone in bed, the other came off motorbike and had cable no charger so loaned him one of my Powerport. I have two 6ft Powerline and two Powerport for my tech.

No beer for a while :frowning:
