Yes Paulaner for you Paul-
If you come for a visit to München I will spend you a box of PAULaner.

Krombacher its “Pils”.
Pils not so my taste, but may be you like it its more “bitter”.
I remember in UK they have the “bitter”, so you can do a comparing.
What’s that on the right “Staro…”? could be Czech.

Prost Paul.

More snow in the night.
Looks really more than deep winter here.

Matching beers Franz, thats amazing

Staropramen is established in Czech Republic and brewed in the U.K.
I didn’t get round to the Krombacher, i feel asleep i front of the TV so that will be for tonight :sunglasses:

Sunny and cold today, so what do we do when faced with such weather? Go to the coast!
Good coffee, amazing cake and maybe even chips for lunch.

I have to do some snow cleaning in front of the house and keep the tile stove on fire.
Enjoy the coast, I am envious.
I will swap with Charlie, he could build a huge “snow castle” with the neighbor’s kids.
All very busy now. Great!

I’d expect prizes to increase.

If the beer is stored cold in shop then the cost increase is already here. Otherwise most beer in a shop is averaging 3 months old so cost was fixed then.

So I’m expecting increase soon.

As a part of beer is wheat or barley or malt as these are grown in a war zone I’d expect a significant cost increase later in the year.

Of course the older folks know what to do. Stock up early before the beer shortage news causes panic and make your own beer. You can also make things which are not beer from potatoes. :smirk:

We can ask @ndalby, he will teach us.
This would be a great fun.

And he has to answer questions as usual

eg. Today two of my new brewed bottles were exploding!
What have I done wrong?
Could it be too much yeast?

Ask the support!..hehehe!

You put too much sugar in the bottle. It is difficult to do accurately so I use pressure barrels. Sometimes you get the valve blowing out so need to make beer outdoors on concrete sloping floor.

Sugar???
Never.
Only yeast, hops and malt. and water
You know the “Reinheitsgebot”!

There is only one question. The preservatives added.
What can be added to the water?
Thats a secret.

So method I use is primary fermentation until there’s very slow / no bubbles so all sugar is gone, then move to pressure barrel with a measured amount of sugar.

If you’re not adding sugar to secondary then you’re reliant on judging the perfect moment to move from primary to secondary, so you moved it too early to the bottle and bit too much sugar hadn’t been processed in primary.

They are all sugars just from different plants. It’s the sugars in wheat being used, not from sugar beets.

Yes! He, and we, would love that Franz :snowman_with_snow:

Cromer, where else?
Warm in the sun, cold in the shade, colder in the wind but that didnt stop coffee, cake, icecream and beer at the coast.
Plenty of activity today, fishermen were out in full force and looked like a good catch, often is in cold weather.
Also many visitors, popular as the kids are now on their Easter holidays.

Show this Charlie, may be he would like to do some “snow works” here.
But meanwhile most of the snow is gone.
I dont mind!.

May be the beer is now of a lower quality…heheh!

I remember the Hofbräu Dunkles Weißbier was about 8.99 in the past and now its about 13.99 a box I suppose.
But a beer lover should not care so much about prices.
I do not.
There is Oettinger a very cheap trademark, but the beer tastes like…
You get what you pay for.
its about 6-7 Euros a box.
And beer from AlDI is cheap as well, but filled in plastic bottles!

Still holding firm at $9 per half gallon, with a free beer included. We’re all back in the brewery now too!

After some quick calculation that’s about 4.38 euros per liter.

Look what i found today Franz, your beer!
I will drink this tomorrow @Chiquinho and let you know what i think
I see its a different label!

Whow, Paul.
(Yours is a normal one, mine in the Paul/Franz-Photo is a light one.( 2,8%) )

I remember you got an original “Weißbierglas” from your friend.
Is that correct?

Now a howto.

The correct pour in of Weißbier
The glass needs to be cleaned with cold water before pouring .
Then hold it in a slight angle when pouring.
Take care that the bottleneck doesn’t get in touch with the beer( (foam)
Then shake the remaining little rest in the bottle to remove the yeast from the bottom of the bottle and pour in on top of the foam.

Prost Paul!
