Any other Eufy Smart Scale owners getting wildly inaccurate number for BMR?

Hello,

I’ve had the Eufy Smart Scale for 3 years now. I use it pretty much every day. It’s useful, and I have it connected to my Google Fit, for keeping track of weight as I work out & eat.
But since the very beginning, there’s been one value that is wildly off every single day: Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)! I know, experimentally, my BMR is around 1700 calories a day. This is what most apps tell me it should be for someone my age, and indeed, when I use that as my BMR in calorie tracking apps, it’s useful in predicting whether or not I will be gaining or losing weight. So I have very strong evidence that it’s the right ballpark.
Eufy life, every single day, with every single measurement on the scale, tells me my BMR is around 2700 calories a day. That’s a difference of 1000 calories a day! About 4 Big Macs. If I’m trying to manage my weight, the question “should I eat an additional 4 Big Macs?” is not a trivial one!
It’s got my weight correctly, and none of the other numbers seem wildly off to me (though it’s harder to independently verify them, they appear to at least be in the right ballpark) – it’s just this one!

Does anyone else have this scale? Are you getting good numbers for your BMR?

I reached out to support, and I’ve been told a few times now that my unit is behaving and reporting correctly – this number is just what they get by their formula. (To which I must insist that the formula is simply objectively inaccurate!)

Hey @andrew109
I have a C1 and love it, but agree the figure is not accurate.
I’m similar to you in that ive proved my BMR is 1700 +/- calories per day.

Mine actually shows under;

I use the Samsung Health app for calorie, exercise, food and health logging so only use the Eufy app to take a measurement.
The fact its wildly inaccurate isn’t a big thing for me.
I know what my BMR is (roughly) and its a figure that changes over time, not so much in the short term.

So, yes, you are correct its inaccurate. Personally, for people like us who understand out bodies i dont class it as an issue.
