Cool.

Does it work with their other hubs so you can add 2 HDMI from a USB-C port on their other hubs?

The many-types-of-hubs complexity challenge.

Good question, i have none of Anker USB-C hubs however will look for an answer.

@Ankerofficial @Ankersupport can what @professor asked work?

The many varied hubs Anker is making will backfire, it will just confuse customers who make incorrect choices and blame Anker.

I’m suggesting a “works with” matrix for hubs so a customer can pick’n’mix two hubs knowing they work together.

e.g. this hub gives two HDMI, a customer can then know they can add this to another Anker hub and get 2 HDMI plus the other hub’s benefits.

@Shenoy Nice deal :clap:

I think the biggest problem would be having to send power from one USB-C hub through an additional USB-C port/hub to power the HDMI ports as needed which is generally used for displays

So that would infer only certain powered hubs would work?

not at all, What I am saying is that it would be hard to determine if it has enough power being provided through hub to hub in order to power displays and such that require power over HDMI. For most people this wouldnt be an issue, but for those who will use it as such it can be a problem. Most notably its a similar scenario when a user tried to plug in their external hard drive into the dock and it couldnt be powered on unless they provided an additional power source for the hub.

So you can have a regular hub work with this if additional power is somehow provided, how I do not know because I have only experienced using the 7in 1 hub and have never tried to use it for more than adding additional usb ports and the card reader to my computer

That’s what I meant, powered hubs. Many Anker hubs are not powered, some are. So certain combination of hubs more likely to work than others.

Example powered hub

See it has power input

So if you plugged in this dual HDMI to the hub, it is likely to work?

Then this one is PD input, so would?

But this hub is not powered so won’t work?

ok yea I get what your saying and yea pretty much thats it. some will work and others wont…this is only provided they need to have power over HDMI and if these hubs can even provide that, which Im not sure if they can anyway or not. sorry if I made a big jumble of nothingness

And so I see the opportunity for Anker if they’d state interoperability across their hub range.

I see someone struggling with their changing needs with these Anker hubs, they’d buy one hub which fits their needs, their needs then change so they have to buy a different hub. Instead if they could daisy chain hubs to add just what was missing then lower cost.

Suppose someone wanted to pay $270 for the 13-in-1 but they wanted dual HDMI, they’d pause unless they knew getting both hubs worked.

Or Anker makes a core powered USBC hub off of which you could connect non powered hubs to get the mix and count of each port type. Hub hub and spoke hub.
