Anker USB C Hub

I purchased the Anker USB C Hub PowerExpand 11 in 1 USB-C PD Hub (Model A8385)
I purchased this to work with my Dell XPS 9310 laptop. This hub can handle up to 100w - requires 15w, will pass through up to 85w for charging. What charger should I get that can charge my laptop and power this charger?
Thank you
CJ

What is the power input type, minimum and maximum of your laptop?

Not sure, but this is the adapter it comes with…45W USB-C AC Adapter Black
I have not received the laptop yet
Thank you
Corey

Not all laptops support USB PD charging, so if it comes with one then it’s a good sign.

Search in Dell forums for what is the minimum and maximum the laptop supports and reply here when found.

For example if your laptop minimum is 45W and max is say 60W then you ideally want 75W or higher, and the supplied 45W won’t work through the hub but a 60W would work. Anker makes charger up to 65W at the moment there’s different versions of USB PD so really it’s the research you have to do on the laptop which will cause the best answers here.

You want a power supply that can supply enough for your laptop + the hub. Sounds like 45W+15W, so a 60W supply would be ideal. If you want to go higher than that and actually use it, you also need a a 100W rated USB-C cable - they all support 60W, but only do higher with the appropriate emarker chip.

But 45W and 15W are both going to be the max those devices would draw. Depending on how intensive your apps and usage are, how fast you want to charge, how many devices you have plugged in, etc. it could be noticeably less. My laptop has a 90W power supply, but will run just fine off of a 60W, and still charge the battery slowly unless I am actively gaming. You might do fine just using the laptop power supply for both, only way to tell is to try.

60W and up should be fine, so something like this:

Which is a pretty good price, I was surprised.

Or if you want a multiport higher capacity charger, this is an option that will more than cover you.

You probably need a high wattage charging brick
