Anker ultra-slim bluetooth keyboard wont pair

Hi. I have an anker bluetooth keyboard and the first time I paired it without a problem. Now it is wanting a pin. I’ve tried 0000 and 1234. .Neither worked. I’ve also tried adding a device using a generated passcode to no avail. I just need my keyboard to work again. Please help. It worked fine before so I’m assuming it’s not the

This took me a long time to solve, since none of the official “How To Guides” or “User Created Guides” worked for me at all.
This was also perplexing because it works fine with Android but has issues with Windows 10; although several times it has worked with Windows 10, after several system (but not driver) updates it stopped working altogether.

If no other guides are working, you can try this:

  1. Go to “Control Panel” (Click Start and start typing “Control Panel” with the virtual keyboard)
  2. Go to “Devices and Printers”
  3. Go to “Add Device”
  4. Make sure the Bluetooth Keyboard is OFF (after trying with it on before and failing)
  5. Select the Keyboard if it’s still in the listings
  6. It will ask you for a pin, but under that it will ask to generate a PIN in small text
  7. Click on the PIN generation request
  8. It will generate a 6 digit PIN
  9. Immediate turn ON your keyboard and press Fn+Z (or whatever the Bluetooth-Sync is for your model; for some it is automatic)
  10. Immediately type in the PIN and press ENTER

It should sync

Notice:
A. 6 digit PIN instead of 4
B. Going to “Add Bluetooth Device”/“Add Bluetooth or Other Device” under Windows 10 Settings didn’t work
C. Going back and forth typing PINS in between the Keyboard and the Input Prompt didn’t work, regardless of order
D. Asking for it to generate a PIN when the keyboard is on just prompts an error

So this guide is for those in which the above might be the issue.

Just wanted to leave a note that some devices actually require a 6 digit PIN including some Anker Bluetooth Keyboards like the A7726 model.
4 digit PINS for those models will not work.

Thanks for this. I was looking for this answer. Most of it worked for me but here the sequence that ultimately fixed it for me.

  1. Go to “Control Panel” (Click Start and start typing “Control Panel” with the virtual keyboard)
  2. Go to “Devices and Printers”
  3. Go to “Add Device”
  4. Select the Keyboard if it’s still in the listings
  5. This will prompts a page with a blank box and a single line text under the box
  6. Click the text under the box
  7. This will generate the page with the PIN to enter on the Anker Keyboard
  8. Turn the Bluetooth on with FN+Z
  9. Enter the PIN on the Anker Keyboard and press Enter

None of this is working for me, it won’t pair I’m over it! I’ve had it for about a month and keep having pairing issues.

Yes,

I’m throwing my Anker in the trash. I have spent 5 hours messing with it already trying to pair it. Why doesnt Anker supply a damn pin? Stupid product and support.

Finally!!! Thank you! I just wasted 2 hours looking through various solutions.
You basically have to use the “OLD” control panel which has that passcode and lets you type it in the keyboard you want to connect. Now I remember why I hate windows so much compared to osx

FIRST LET THE PC DISCOVER THE KEYBOARD BY ENABLING BLUETOOTH THEN DO fn + BLUETOOTH ICON IN ANKER KEYBOARD
IT’S BLUE LIGHT WILL FLASH TWO TIMES
IF YOU TRIED BEFORE TO PAIR IT AND FAIL TO GET THE NUMBER DON’T WORRY
YOUR PC WILL DETECT THE KEYBOARD AND WILL ASK FOR A PASSWORD, SO
IN THE BOX BELOW ENTER ANY PASSWORD YOU LIKE BUT WITH THE KEYBOARD YOU HAVE (NOT THE ANKER, BUT THE ONE CONNECTED WITH THE CABLE TO YOUR PC)
ONCE YOU’VE ENTER THE PASSWORD ENTER IT AGAIN BUT IN THE ANKER’S AND VOILA !!! YOU WILL BE CONNECTED VIA BLUETOOTH
HOPE THIS HELPS AND PLEASE IF YOU DECIDE TO THROW YOUR ANKER TO THE WASTE LET ME KNOW … LOL

I have been attempting for two weeks to reattached my Anker A7726. Its very aggravating. I cannot type the “password” on the bluetooth keyboard because it is not connected. Am I not getting something here. I tried anyway and I get nothing… It still does not connect. Argh!

I have tried EVERY solution listed. Trash can it is!

This was the comment that did it for me! Messed around with it for hours and finally figured it out. Using the old control panel (called an “app” now I guess) worked super! June 2020. Thanks again!

Thank you for this. I was fed up for only 30 mins until I found your post. i am even replying to this with the Anker keyboard. I took a screenshot of this post incase I forget.

I had the same problem. The problem was fixed by typing ‘anker a7726’ all in lower case.

This worked, than you so much! I’ve been trying to pair this thing for the past three days.

Ok Guys HERE IS THE SOLUTION!!!

  1. Use Viritual or Wired keyboard and go to:
    “add bluetooth device”

  2. Select Bluetooth Device (first option)

  3. Type in 1234 for PIN, hit “connect

  4. HERE IS THE KICKER GUYS!!
TYPE 1234 ON YOUR ANKER KEYBOARD!!

  5. And ~MOST IMPORTANTLY~ hit ENTER

"Enter" is always important.
But sometimes after hitting Enter you are totally grilled!

One key issue in Windows 10 is that each time the keyboard is set up, the registry sets an associated passkey. (0001, 0002, etc) Use Regedit to search the registry to find what entries have been made, then use one of the existing numbers you find when responding with a pass code:

When the box opens on the screen asking for a pass code, type the nuber found in the registry ON THE COMPUTERS non-BLUETOOTH keyboard, hit enter, then immediately type the same code on the Anker keyboard.

Is there still such a registry on WIN10?
I have heard there is no, or better its hidden.
That MS!
Good luck!

I have been trying to connect my Anker wireless keyboard to my android. It worked well on my old phone and I didn’t use it for a while. When I try to pair with new phone I go to pair and when I click pair a prompt pops up onto phone screen that says "input this pairing key 648736 on keyboard then press enter " (the code made up , it’s different every time I try to pair) . So I ended that code on the keyboard and press enter like it says to do but then a notice on my phone says it cannot pair because of incorrect pin or passkey. I have tried multiple times, I made su
re caps lock wasn’t on,I tried 0000 and 0000 and 1234 and 123456 and nothing works . Any suggestions??
