What do I think of the Anker PowerLine III USB-A to Lightning cable?
Design
When I first saw the PowerLine III, I thought it was really good-looking. And in fact, it is. It’s a white, 90 cm long USB-A to Lightning cable, MFI certified. Slightly thick, it gives a sensation of robustness. Plugs are made of ridged white silicone, and that makes it very nice to operate and it improves the grip. Sadly, this is also a very good part to attract all the dust that lays under your bed or desk. Whatever, plugs are strongly tied to the cable so they won’t tear away (hello Apple).
Use
I use this cable to charge my iPhone, iPad or AirPods on my bedside table. I also used it as everyday school charger and it lied around the bottom of my bag, under books and other school stuff… and it is intact ! Thanks to its thickness and quality, it seems impossible to damage this cable with something other than a blade. Despite this undeniable thickness, this cable remains pretty flexible, which is really a pleasure.
Target
In my opinion, this cable is meant for everyone, and will make the ones who carry their charger with them all day really happy because of it’s endurance.
Facing competitors
Obviously, because of its superior thickness and connectors, the Anker cable is much stronger than the standard Apple cable. It’s meant to last a long time (and many generations of Apple devices).
Summary
So, this cable is really strong while pleasurable to use, thanks to its plugs, flexibility and folding resistance. It can be used by everyone but especially the ones who have an intense use of their chargers and think that iPhone’s stock cable is not enough.
Caution : the cable I tested had connectors that heated much more than an Apple cable for instance during the charge.
