Reminder you posted 2 days a price $10 lower than this.

So chances if someone were to wait it would go back down not far in the future.

I wish they’d either unbundled the charger so we can choose or bundle a more useful charger. This Powercore has a 45W input so it’s a waste to bundle a 60W charger when for example there’s a dual 45W+15W charger the similar cost.

With that powerbank, you could go days without having to worry about being close to an outlet

Agree but what is unique is this only takes 3.5 hours to recharge, so you can spend days away from wall socket and then only spend a few hours waiting near the wall.

Other substantially lower cost Powercore exist with the same 28600 energy but take longer to recharge. So this makes sense for either those who really need 45W and had little time near wall sockets. Say someone who had to use a high power laptop at a large lecture theatre with no in seat power and they were moving this Powercore between laptop and distant wall multiple times through a day.

I really doubt these use cases are common.

I own the 6 hour recharge 26800 which takes dual 10W input and gives 12Wx3 out and it has the same stored energy but at significantly less cost and it works for all my needs.

I also prefer when I’m heading into a long off-grid distance to carry two smaller Powercore as that helps with the theoretical chance of a Powercore failure, such as it fault or damaged.

The fact that it takes 3.5 hours to recharge sounds good! I’m not a big fan of powerbanks but they have come really handy in a few occasions

Power banks have 3 benefits:

  • cover during power outage, I for years lived near a major fault and kept 3 days of battery
  • not plugging into the wall and sit down with battery and recharge device, this reduces chance of device damage as you avoid the getting up and dragging the wire to smash laptop to the ground problem, a short local cable is safer than a long cable to the wall.
  • when traveling (the most common use). Although I prefer smaller and carry two than one big battery bank as you can be using one while recharge the other and redundancy from one failure.

Two 10000 PD taking 3.5hr each to recharge costs less than one 20000 PD taking 3.5hr to recharge using a dual 18W charger.
