Anker might be getting a lot of customers for the Nano

Since the iPhone 12 does not come with a power brick people need one. Looks like UnboxTherapy recommends the Nano for the new iPhone. He talks about how the Nano is better than apples charger brick.

I don’t even own an iPhone and I want the nano :joy:

I have no qualms for folks in the UK buying the UK Nano, I cannot fault it whatsover, which for me which is critical of anything, is a complement.

I do have qualms for US folks buying the Nano right now, if you can wait, as it has an obvious design flaw - non folding pins. As soon as they put folding pins on it, you’ll prefer it to the current version. It costs Anker nothing, has no downsides, and is such a trivial change, it must be inevitably coming. The only way it wouldn’t is if the factories which do the folding pins on the other chargers (Mini, Powerport 2, etc) are different to the factory for the Nano and they don’t have the machines to put in the folding pin base and weld it to the body.

But yes, anyone buying an Apple charger is well…

I own an iPhone and iPad but unfortunately, it’s with the lightning cables. But like you, I still want a Nano. Funny thing is, the only thing I have that uses usb-c is my GoPro and SoundCore P2. I need an upgrade. LOL.

You just need a USB-C to Lightning cable. Problem solved.

Let’s hope the nano shows up in the powerdraw or something lol

Yes that definitely would be great.

It is not that expensive.

I own 3. :flushed:

It was £10 for a while. A “why not” kicked in. But after that, there’s only single-port USB-PD anyone needs.

Oh I know, I’m just a tight-ass when it comes to spending money. I got a bunch of chargers sitting around that work perfectly and don’t even use. I guess I rather try my luck on the powerdraw for an item I don’t really need than pay for it (don’t judge me  )

In the Unboxing Therapy video starting at 6:28, the Anker nano charger makes it’s appearance…the charger is tiny, yes…

Watch the video at the time I mentioned above…why is the box it comes in SO HUGE?

It’s at least 3 times the size of the iPhone 12’s box…is this the standard box that this teeny, tiny, little nano charger comes in???

At 6:18 in the zoomed out view of the table just before he reaches for it, you can see the Anker box at the far left bottom corner.

Holy crap, that box is big.

Its the same for the UK version @SZak2015
The box is ready for a twin pack, and they would fit comfortably!

I think everyone would prefer the folding pins, but I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. I would much prefer the folding pins, but it’s not a deal breaker.

Currently, my bigger issue is that it only has 1 port. I can’t imagine me buying another single port charger. I’d want at least 2, maybe 3 or 4. I see several non-Anker chargers on Amazon for $20-$30 that have a USB-C PD port plus a USB-A port that does >60W PD.

Agree.

I own 3 Nano and that’s plenty enough, I then waited and waited then got two Slim 63W port dual USBC dual USBA.

All of these are due a “Nano” makeover

That 63W dual USB-C, dual USB-A is pretty sexy. When it drops to <$45, I might pick it up.

I have two of them, it’s good, a 5th port would be ideal. I’m using with a 6ft C-C, 3ft C-C, 3ft 3-in-1 and my watch dock, so does my tablet, powercore, phone, buds, flashlight, watch.

I reckon the reason no price drop is because an upgrade version is in the works to make that 18W a 20W, it’s a minor change well within the headroom of the design. As soon as that’s manufactured then this would drop in price significantly to clear stock, then become unavailable, then the upgraded version at this same high price, then it is discounted. Most here won’t be bothered by 20W vs 18W so, yes, when the discount happens then buy.

@professor
Which model number exactly is pictured in your top photo that you describe as “Slim 63W port dual USBC dual USBA”

I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Is it a USA model or other?

Thanks

I recommend the product but also recommend waiting for a discount.

If you look at similar products which differ only in USBC Vs USB A ports you should see a $4 higher cost for a C port over an A port.

If you look at the discount on the other slim 4 port, you get to a rough estimate this should be discounted to around $30, so 40% discount.

I don’t know why it’s not yet discounted, it’s been out long enough, so may be a sign of high demand relative to stock.

The 4 port complements the 1 port Nano. If you’re moving a lot you may just want to plug one item simply, the Nano does that well , the 4 port is more for settled in a place and want the extra cable length advantage and more ports. Combined you get 5 ports, 45W C + 2 18W C + 2 A where the Nano can charge what you don’t need nearby (e.g a Powercore).

Personally I’d like the 65W 45W C + 3 A to be retired and not available as it’s too easy for buyer’s regret not knowing this 63W 45/30W C + 18W C + 2 A existed. Most people own plenty of A port already and we don’t really need many A ports close to us, possibly 1 port for legacy devices (buds).
