I think this is a neat idea, but I’d be curious to see what Anker does with it in the next year or two.
Wireless power banks like this are a great idea in theory, but in practice, they often disconnect from the phone constantly (weak magnets) and have slow charging speeds. To be fair, I haven’t purchased the PowerCore Magnetic 5k, but I’m sure that the 5w charging speed would be fine if the power bank was continuously on your phone.
I’d love to see 7.5w in a form factor like this, but still- it would be great to see more competition in this product category.
At that point of it is always on the phone, doesn’t really help.
I’d be mindful of setting the phone battery up for poor power cycle / life as it would constantly draw fro the power pack.
It will be interesting to see how this evolves, for me, not something I’d need at this point. The wired pbs I have charge fast enough.
