I have now used this Anker Air Vent Car Mount for a few days on short trips as well as long trips, so I’m ready to provide my fair and honest review for this sample, that I was provided for test and evaluation.
I have mainly used it with my OnePlus One (5.5 inch screen with a case) in my Honda Civic.
The mount comes in a small nicely packed frustration free box. Inside you will find a mount itself and instructions on how to install the mount in your car.
The mount itself is very solid. Claws that attach to your air vent are also very sturdy as I have attached and detached the mount lots of times and the silicone claws were still strong. Cradle is wide enough to hold my 5.5 inch screen with some space left, so you can probably mount a 6 inch screen phone as well. There is a knob which you have to turn in order to secure the position of the phone in cradle, which can be placed horizontally or vertically, so you can use your phone as a Sat Nav.
The problem with all air vent car mounts is that when you attach it to the vent it obstructs the air vent, so if you like air blowing in your face while you drive, this mount will block some of that air. Another issue which I had in my Honda Civic is that my air vents slide up and down, so when I attached the mount it wasn’t stable because of the air vents in my car. However if you don’t touch the phone once its attached to the mount you shouldn’t have any major problems, even if your air vents move as well. It is also a bit difficult to get the phone out of the mount once it’s installed, especially if your phone is quite big (5.5 inch screen phone with a case).
On the other hand, advantage of having air vent mount is that it is close to your steering wheel and you don’t have to reach out far as you do with window mounts.
Overall I’m quite satisfied with this Air Vent Mount from Anker and recommend it!
