Anker A2503 Wireless Charging Pad - Amperage on Charger

Anker A2503 Wireless Charging Pad - I have a 5V/2.1A Charger that I would like to use with my pad. Will this extra .1 Amp be harmful to the charger? This charger, recommended in another post has no specs for volts or amps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077HFFLMS

Hey @Michael_P2
Thats fine. Mine has a 20w input and all is good.

You may even find thats not powerful enough to allow the pad to output its full 10w.

That is the proper charger to use for this wireless pad as it requires quick charge 3.0 in order for it to output the right amount of power for this wireless charger

The Qi standard uses Quick Charge 2.0 , 9V 2A 18W.

The Wattage is not what to look for. You literally need 9V 2A QC2 compatible. QC2 is inside QC3 so QC3 will suffice. QC3 is inside IQ2 so any IQ2 will work. IQ2 is inside IQ3 so any IQ3 will work. PD won’t work.

There isn’t any chance of harm, if you had 5V charger then you’d inject 10W in and get around 5W-7.5W out. If you injected 9V 2A QC2 then you’d get around 10W-11W out.

If you’re using older technology, in general anything from Apple, you’d not really benefit from 18W as it’s 7.5W anyway. Most Android are newer like Samsung need 18W, and Qi standard is behind all the proprietary, but Anker doesn’t sell proprietary. That’s Anker is saying

Keep in mind that some power IQ 2.0 will not work for certain wireless pads that require QC 2/3.0 as it doesn’t sense the proper chip in order to supply the proper power output so to save itself it reverts to the lowest power output
