It’s a great idea… after Ring controversy… don’t trust Amazon much… it may be planting surveillance devices everywhere :rofl::rofl:… same with Google, MS, Apple…

I don’t trust any of them. No camera systems pointed inside and my devices are turned off when not in use.

I own both Alexa, Google, and use MS system since its on my notebook and its always active. I removed the Roav assistants from my car since they weren’t very useful.

At the house I mainly use mine to turn on the security smart lighting since its faster to tell my assistant to turn them on then to open the app and turn them on.

I use Google to control chromecast. Once again its faster to tell the system to pause, reverse 30 seconds, or forward 30 seconds then to use my phone.

As to adding assistants to light switches, don’t need or want it. Smart switches are fine but I don’t need my light switches listening in to my conversations.

I use those old styled timers for switching lights.
(If burglars protection only I can use random switch)

Speaking of Alexa. I bought a TV last night and it came with a Alexa Dot gen 3. Not sure what I’m going to do with it.
