A lonesome "Kraut"?

@bobbleheaderman: You were not allowed to use the term “Kraut”.
Interesting.

We here in Bavaria call the Germans from the North : “Preussen” = Prussians. And they call the Bavarians “Seppel”.

And the people from the EX-GDR are called here in western part “Ossis” and they call us “Wessis”.

But this is not insulting at all, for the most Germans from the eastern or the western part.

And not to forget: The Austrians (Oesterreich) are called “Oesis” here.
And they call us “Piefke”

All fun!

Correct.

If my dad is my dad, then I could be half paddy and half taffy from my mum… Going on features, probably all taffy by heritage! I also lived in Wales for 5 years. Even tho I left Wales in 92, I still get the odd Welsh twang in my speech, especially when I get pissed off! lol

Inbred cos of the town I was mainly brought up in

Wurzzle being from Somerset

So if someone calls themselves a name which you reply back, is different from if you call them a name they had not used to describe themselves.

Respect.

I also have a view that if someone is offended then they need to become more tolerant because otherwise you can cause a downward spiral. To illustrate from a century ago using a “neutral” term which was not decades ago:

  • gypsies are thieves
  • do not let gypsies near, they will steal
  • gypsies unemployed so some of them have to steal
  • gypsies therefore steal
  • so gypsies are thieves

Replace “gypsies” with some ethnic group and replace “thief” with some other thing of a negative dimension.

20th Century riddled with these negative feedback loops.

Fortunately, with Anker technology, we are traveling wider and faster and stirring the gene pool and slowly eroding 19th and 20th Century not very nice views.

I am a plonker

@nigelhealy
I know what you mean. But this is different.
Your samples are showing plain prejudices only.
The same would be if someone states, that Germans are N*zis.
This is stupid agitation. Nobody will agree that, or he is really a racist.

These other nicknames we are talking about as “paddy” “tommy” or “kraut” are mostly used for fun and nobody feels discriminated normally.

OK.

So change the topic.

What are your thoughts of how well Anker supports the German market? Do you experience under or slighted attendance? I know the UK Anker site better from which I observe the UK seems to have fewer products and fewer discounts. How is it from in Germany?

To find this out was my intention.
So I asked “Am I the only, lonely one?”.

And we all see there are not many Germans here (PU) who are in the game.
There was NO reaction! :disappointed:

May be this is a question of the language.
You will not find many German users writing articles, reviews etc. here in English.
Same seems to be at the french market.

I think ANKER is well established in the German market when looking at AMAZON.de

But if I compare this to ANKER’s performance in UK and US it could be much better.
I’m not a specialist for selling, so this should be a task for ANKER’s marketing stuff.
I will help of course.
