$50 off the all-new eufyCam 2

It’s pretty cool that you only have to charge it once a year

Any update on this, Chris?

Cheers

@voldog1984 hi, the second generation of eufyCam supports homekit. Please use the new camera in the second generation HomeBase.
Homekit is expected to launch next month, please stay tuned.

So I have not gotten a security camera yet as most of the time people are always at my house. I have considered it and am wondering what are some of the main points to looks for in a security system.

Having used the cameras for about a month and a half now, here’s some additional feedback and observations.

  • The software continues to improve these products - thankfully updates are relatively frequent and rarely (if ever) introduce new bugs. With updates, the Homebase 2 and EufyCam 2 cameras are perfect for my needs.
  • Homekit is a breeze to set up and use, though I’ve found myself opting for the updated Eufy Security iOS app lately since it’s so nice to look at.
  • Geofencing, a newer mode that auto-sets Home and Away statuses, is by far my favorite feature. The peace of mind I have from knowing my home is constantly monitored and protected is fantastic.
  • So far, I’ve had 1150 events captured on my 3 cameras in 53 days, and have only used 0.42GB of the formatted 14.25GB available on the Home Base. I have absolutely no concern about the provided space not being sufficient at any point in the future.
  • I can confirm the person detection and alarm features work well, loudly, and quickly, as I discovered when I came home from a 2-week vacation after midnight, after turning “Away” mode on before I left. My bad, should’ve just trusted geofencing (spotty in beta, much much better now).
  • I recently purchased the Eufy Doorbell (2K!) as well, which is a great addition to the set. Just remember. when you’re installing, to “bridge” the existing door bell :bell: module cables (e.g., “TRANS” + “FRONT”) with the included jumper, or you’ll get an “insufficient power” error and it could perplex you for hours.
  • Coming from a Ring doorbell, the Eufy Doorbell is easily a step above in usability and features. Plus, secure local storage is a massive plus versus an Amazon-owned company (Ring).
  • Excited for secure cloud storage, which will up Eufy’s competitiveness against any other offering out there.
  • I haven’t used the microphone or “talk-back” features on my cameras yet, but definitely plan to with the doorbell in the future. More to come on that front.

Hope this helps!

Hi guys, first post here…

Just wondering if the Eufycam’s are capable in the future of offering video recording of higher than 15 frames per second? Arlo’s are at least 24fps capable and even Blink XT2’s at 30 FPS. Everything else looks better to me with the Eufycam 2 system in particular.

Thanks in advance!

Hi team,
I’ve read through all the comments here but I’m still unclear.

I have the original Eufy Cams, can I join them to HomeBase 2 and use them with HomeKit?

Hi @jmwarren85,

You can join original eufy Cams to HomeBase 2 but can’t use them with HomeKit.
Currently, HomeKit is only available on eufyCam 2 and 2C connected to eufy HomeBase 2, and Indoor cameras. The HomeKit support on other models is not confirmed yet. We will continue evaluating the market demands and possibilities. For the time being, if you’re interested in HomeKit feature, we recommend you the eufyCam2. If you need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact eufy service team (support@eufylife.com) at any time.

Thank you.
