wanted to know if you will be included us as a beta tester on these units @AnkerTechnical @AnkerOfficial as per the survey filled out on the EufyCam App. Hopefully you do reach out to us.
$50 off the all-new eufyCam 2
If i purchase the eufycam 2 camera system and 2 additional eufycam 2 cameras will all the cameras function the same? Use Homebase 2 and be compatible with Apple homelink?
@AnkerOfficial
@AnkerTechnical
Good question. I assume you should be able to use HomeKit with Homebase 2 and eufycam 1.
Let’s see official response @AnkerOfficial
I guess I’m confused about the add on cameras. Are the add on cameras eufycam 2 or eufycam 1?
@AnkerOfficial
@AnkerTechnical
Sorry, it seems I confused you. I thought you were asking about adding eufycam 1 that you purchased additionally along with eufycam 2 system.
What does the packaging and product description say when you purchased additional eufycam’s?
If they are eufycam 2’s and you have eufycam 2 system, it should work without a question.
Not bought them yet. Just wanted to make sure they would work. There isn’t an eufycam 2 additional camera on eufys website but there is on bestbuys. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t buying the eufycam 1 camera.
Got you, I don’t know if there is any difference so you can see it physically. But the packaging and your order description should still say what you are buying.
HomeBase is changed for sure, it looks more like rectangular cube now compared to a tapered one in the past.
Do you know if eufy is looking at coming out with a security system like Ring or Nest to tie all these products together? Thanks
@Ice1
@AnkerOfficial
Yes, eufy is working on integrating their Video Doorbell, Floodlight Camera with eufyCam so that they can leverage the use and additional storage of Homebase. eufyCam already has window/door sensors. There is a 100dB siren in Homebase (and floodlight i guess)
The only missing thing I see is the Keypad and there was a prototype (I think it is) shown during one of the Anker’s seminar.
So, this will make it a complete security system, even with HomeKit for Apple fanboys (with eufyCam 2)
This is pretty tempting. The video doorbell review I did performed really well, this could be another awesome product to do a video on. Plus it would be interesting to see the difference between the EufyCam and the EufyCam 2…
Hi,
Sorry to disagree, but they have zero automations, iftt, smartthings(or similar), api…
This is a reply to post #55 by RalphGuest who is having issues with his Samsung Galaxy Note S10+ which when speaking into the microphone on his phone is not able to transmit sound to either of his EufyCam 2 speakers on the cameras.
I have a similar issue on my Samsung S9 phone but my wife’s iPhone SE works fine. I can get my S9 to half way work if I to put my mouth about 1 inch from the phone’s microphone and talk loudly but the camera speaker sound is still not as loud as with the iPhone SE when talking normally in a low tone and not close to the microphone. I email a support issue to support@eufylife.com and they replied the following.
“With regards to your concern, please be assured that our current app does have some compatibility issues with Samsung S9. Thank you so much for your valuable suggestion and testing. Our engineers are working hard to develop new firmware to help solve this problem. We will notify you as soon as new firmware released. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
Fingers crossed!
Update12/13/2019
I escalated my support ticket and got a quick response from the Eufy Customer Support Manager. They wrote: “We are glad to tell you that our engineers have successfully found the cause of the problem and updated the app to solve this problem.”
After installing the Android Eufy update the problem was fixed. My head is still spinning from how fast this all happened. Support like this is very rare. They have been at it for some time now since the initial Kickstarter with updates and feature in record time. I just hope they don’t burn out. Keep up the awesome work Eufy.
I agree with you on this. No IFTTT or Smart things, at least they got HomeKit working now. I guess they must have done their research to get to know which automation they needed to implement to capture majority of market. Hopefully eufy will expand the features so everyone can use their products.
Too had it is not at least 2K in resolution. I would also love to see a color night vision feature.
When will your security sorcerers be sending out FREEE replacements to all the backers who were promised these features and were NEVER delivered!
This is what anker support replied to me:
" Dear Rui Parreiral,
Thank you for your quick response.
For the IFTTT feature, we sincerely sorry to let you know it won’t be supported in the short term.
We totally understand that our product is not perfect. You have our promise that our engineers would work day and night to improve this product and we are glad to have your support and understanding, which would be a huge encouragement for us to seeking continuous improvement.
We will consider the possibility of future development. Any other concerns we can address in the future, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for your support. Have a lovely day."
and SmartThings:
"Thank you for your reply.
The eufycam 1 generation is currently not supporting smart things, automation support, and API release.
Our engineering team is constantly working on creating new products and improving the existing ones and it is users like you that inspire us to continue down this path.
