What will PowerIQ2 do with USB-PD devices?

Continuing the discussion from The Next Generation: Charging Forward:

If I had say a 5V 3A input tablet, which uses USB-C port, what would a PowerIQ2 portable charger output?

5V 2A?
5V 2.4A? <— this is what powerIQ outputs unless you connect to a USB-C port like off Powercore5 USB-C then its 2.6A
5V 3A?

I dont think this will be able to support PD device. This is just a combination of QC2 and IQ1

im guessing only time will tell… ):

Hi @nigelhealy,

Thanks for your concern about the PIQ 2.0.

According to our test, the PIQ 2.0 will charge a PD device at 5V mode. The charging current is decided by the device then.

The charging speed could reach 5V/2.4A if the device could be recharged at 2.4A under 5V mode. However, if the PD device does not accept 5V input, then it will not be recharged via PIQ 2.0.

Hope this addresses your concern. For more information, you’re welcome to contact us via "support@anker.com".

Best wishes!

So for the majority of devices, IQ2 is no advance.

Odd you did that.
