6 ft charging cable
What length of charging cable do you use?
3’ with the Powercore 5000 and a 6’ and 10’
I use the 6ft
3ft 6ft and 10ft. They all have their places where they work the best.
I use a 6 foot cable, but honestly I wouldn’t mind a 10 foot one.
I prefer 3 ft and 1 ft cords.
12ft. Cable
I just ordered the PowerLine 6ft lightning cable because my Apple cord was weak.
I agree the standard apple cables are very prone to breaking and way to short!
Wow that’s pretty long! Sounds like you need some more sockets or a smaller house haha!
I use the 6 ft ones pretty much everywhere. Except at my desk I use a 3 ft one because I have a power strip right there to plug my charger into.
edit: and with my mobile power i obviously dont carry a 6ft around lol, i use a 1 ft with those usually
I’ve only used 3’ cables so far. I do have one 6’ cable, but I leave most of it coiled up as I just don’t have a need for longer than 3’.
I like the 5 ft. Length
Always good to have the option
At home (by the bed), long, 10 foot. But I really like the short ones for battery packs
Pretty even support for all lengths of cable! I guess it’s a very personal choice as to which works better for you. Based on the reply to this post I would like to see anker make all of there current range of cables available in 3,ft 6ft and 10ft. I also think more multipack availability or a discount for buying multiple cables would be nice too.
It would be nice to see a variety pack of the different lengths.
Electrically, power loss is more a function of Amps than Volts and why the electrical power grid uses a high voltage transmission and stays higher voltage right up to the wall socket. “Volts jolts, mils kills” the power nearer your fingers is nearer to low voltage such as the 5V USB.
If you have a longer power cord up to the point it becomes USB, then shorter cables to where the amps ups and volts drops to your device, then you will suffer less overall energy in the cables.
A Powerport5 or similar, with a power cord to the mains which is longer, and then the USB cables are shorter, will waste less energy.
The argument for longer USB cables is when you’re looking at a small overall Amps needs - say just a mobile phone. Hence a Powerport2 with longer USB cables. Otherwise if multiple devices a longer powercord then USB then shorter USB cables like the Powerport5.
