My thoughts exactly!
Weird Food Combinations
Generally a normal 3 cheese pizza with a thin layer of haggis over it - like mince. Some also make little haggis “balls” and put them on it.
Picture from google…
Haggis pakora is also fantastic. I just love haggis
If you are having a bbq or something then try the pineapple. It is awesome!
Haha I already did that yesterday. Fired up the grill and while I made some dogs and burgers I had these going too. So so yummy…but best not to do it at the same time as other food because everything tasted like pineapples
Never been a fan of Haggis but that does look tasty
Cheese makes everything better☺️
Haggis!
Now I know what is. (Wiki tells you everything)
There are similar stuffs like this in the North of Germany.
Not here in Bavaria.
But I think, as I like to experiment too when cooking, there are really interesting combinations which would be delicious using this Haggis.
May be, the recipe (ingredients) of this Haggis differs from the parts of UK you get it, I was reading the original Haggis comes from Scotland.
So we might start swapping recipes like old housewifes!!!
Haggis … N A S T Y not even rabbie liked it. lol plus it’s not even originally Scottish. Oops‽
I love pizza, esp my absolutely favourite TEXAS BBQ from Dom’s
You eaten haggis?
Trust me, I was as confused as you are. I think it’s a New England Baby Boomer thing, but it is not a combination I had ever heard of before.
How do people even come up with this stuff?
I’ve never made my own haggis, it’s easier to simply buy it. However there must be different recipes as some brands are a bit spicier than others.
Lidl and Aldi actually do very good tinned haggis! It’s very handy for a quick meal during winter.
I wait till Lidl and Aldi will offer Haggis here in Bavaria.
But I think they will not.
Different country different tastes.
But I do a lot of “exports” always, when going back from Portugal.
Olive oil, smoked ham, and a smoked pork knuckle.
Those are my specials.
Preparing your own haggis?
Not so easy I suppose.
First you must have all those ingredients, which are not easy to get I suppose.
I was reading about, mainly made after a slaughtering and butchering.
I tried it many many years ago whilst on holiday in Scotland. Couldn’t stand it… Yuck!
However, the locally produced smoked salmon was to die for
You just reminded me, I once had a Mac n’ Cheese sandwich. Didn’t strike me as all that weird at the time, maybe because a friend was having a ramen sandwich - the ramen replacing the buns. A friend of mine once ordered a salad bowl with bacon where the actual bowl was made of bacon.
What a fantastic idea
Lol this reminded me of the local (to Dundee, Scotland) obsession with pies… Everything can become a pie.
Pizza pie,
Lasagna pie,
Mac & cheese pie,
Chicken curry pie…
The list is almost endless!
Have a look (scroll down) of you don’t believe me
Was confused for a moment, as we in Bristol, have a Clarks pie!
However, it’s a local family been doing it for donkeys years.
