It was a chilly morning here in NC but it’s starting to feel better now
Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)
The walk ended up being 5 miles through the fields and tracks around our village.
So much needed exercise and fresh air.
Heres a few pics for those that are interested.
Whatever you guys got up to today, i hope you all had a good one.
There is an admin / moderator similar equivalent to Ankerofficial on Anker forum…, Mengdi and managing pretty well, answering and responding to queries…
I hope, with Eufy Security Forum, Anker & Sister companies STOP depending on community members for moderation and have moderation from the company staff.
Oh yes. He is an admin. He has full capabilities and authority on the forum- equivalent to Lawrence or Pei.
Moderator is generally a user who is selected to help out, like Neil, Ryan or myself.
Mendgi is doing a good job
I don’t know if only staff based moderation / administration works that well, simply because they can’t be on the forum as much as users can (users have fun on the forum, for anker staff its a job)
Our moderators are doing good, but Staff based moderation is still a better option, any day!
Simple because moderation from community members is “best effort”, for staff moderators - it is a responsibility and ownership. Many might disagree but it is a fact.
Because I am retired I am under-outdoors at weekends to allow the space for those who have to work 9x5. So my weekends are more indoors than my weekdays.
There’s only so much park, path, road so I’m not being part of the problem.
My risks are also higher at weekend as I’m more up close with others like joggers and cyclists who are virus-splatterers needing all the space.
I’m heading out Tuesday. On Thursday I did 8 miles walking.
I’m with you re the joggers and cyclists, never seen so many today!
8 miles is good going @professor enjoy your walk on Tuesday
I’ve started using Samsung Health, reasonably accurate and finding it motivational to walk faster, longer and more regularly. I’m sure the novelty will wear off soon
I’ve seen a lot more people out running than I do normally, too. I should be running more often than I do, especially with all the Easter candy in the house!
Any perks to being a mod?
Not really. I enjoy helping out which I consider to be a perk
You’re a very knowledgeable guy so I think you are doing a great job. I don’t visit much cause I really don’t have that many Soundcore items
The issue is the distance needs are actually duration , so faster moving objects need to be further apart. Joggers panting a few feet from walkers might as well be spraying the virus straight into every face. Six-10 feet for walking becomes 30 feet for joggers and 50 feet for cyclists.
Personally I’d just close gas stations, ban driving, and let the roads be for fast moving people doing exercise. Healthcare workers have a badge to not get the $2000 fine.
Exercise is essential, it helps directly with lungs and heart, and indirectly via mental health which lowers drug usage which impacts immune system.
We were talking about at soundcore forum.
When doing sports the distance should much more.
Even those 1,5m in supermarkets will not help much.
Last week when it was pretty cold here I was expiring in the morning and the “cloud” was more than these 1.5m.
What is the reach of a person breathing heavily now?
Scientists are talking about 20m
You are absolutely right!
Read this…
I walk almost exclusively now, in part to make the best exercise use of a given journey distance.
When I ride a bike I do it on the road so further from pedestrians.
I’d love for the unnecessary car drivers are purged away. Perhaps they’ll discover they can shop on a bike which turns the shop into an exercise opportunity if they don’t live in a reasonable walking distance. So everyone able and healthy within, say, 10 miles of a food shop don’t need to drive.
The air spread of a fast moving infected person is obviously higher than a slower moving person.
The trails I used to go for walk are too crowded with everyone coming out now… Tried differed times… Looks to be crowded all the time…
Have seen some people sneeze and cough while I went earlier, walking on trails no longer an option for me…
Will need to plan alternatives
Do that!
Crowded walking trails should not be taken.
What about around Crystal Springs, or Canada Rd, up one of the parks like Huddert?
