Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)

Now that is a good idea Kaitlyn.
He keeps saying he needs to go faster so bought him a bike with gears, but apparently thats still not fast enough :flushed:

Be careful Charlie.
The more speed, the heavier would a crash be. :flushed:

Yes Franz, that’s what we tell him.
He is full of confidence as he hasn’t had a major crash yet.
But the time will come and I have prepared him that sometime he will crash.
But you know kids Franz, they think they are invincable!

I know Paul!
But again:
Be careful my friend Charlie!
I had such crashes with bikes.
And we should never forget what happened to our friend @professor.
So great he is OK now.

8-9mph is faster than me now, I’m only cyclist who goes downhill slower than uphill.

What about this one!
Would be unique in the UK!

I used to race my brother on our bikes to see who would go faster he had the better bike so it was always a challenge. Speed became less of a goal when he crashed into me and I flipped over the handle bars and the other time I ripped my whole knee open. Still enjoy biking but speed isn’t the main goal. Hopefully if he ever crashes it isn’t too bad

Certainly did @ikari04warrior and hope you had a good weekend too!

Hey @ktkundy that sounds painful :worried:

He was very nervous when leaving to ride, falling off was holding him back.
It took a while but I managed to get into him that at some point he will fall off. I think he accepted that and relaxed enough to learn to ride.
I think he has enough confidence now so when he has a proper crash it won’t put him off.

Glad the kiddo got back to riding. I remember whn I was in my teens I was told not to ride my bike too hard because I needed new wheel bearings, of course I didn’t listen and rode my bike down a sweeping “S” curving hill. My speed gauge registered me going about 55mph down the hill when my front wheel started to shake and the bearings fell out and then the whole wheel locked and down I went tumbling ad rolling right into incoming traffic. Luckily they slammed on their brakes and I ended up wedged just under their bumper. I was scrapped and bruised up but managed to walk away from that fall, it took almost a year afterwards for me to even go near a bike again because I didn’t trust them. But let me tell you that once i did ride again, all my joyous memories came back and I enjoyed it as much as I could.

Hey @Tank great to hear from you.
That sounds like a pretty hard fall, and very lucky the traffic stopped!
55mph, was that a motorbike you were riding? It would frighten the life out of me to ride a pedal bike that fast.
All the best and have a great weekend. :+1:t2:

Hurra!

Anna and I made it.
Today was “old Willy’s” big surgery.
We swapped the left side brush motor.
All went fine.

Very important information:
You need the small fingers, the good eyes of a young lady to do this.
Not the because of the screws, but these little plugs and sockets are absolutely not designed for such old trembling “beer fingers” like mine.
.
Then she removed the debris (hairs) from the free running wheel of the middle brush after removing that plastic part of it.

Now, no more noise from the middle brush, both side brushes are working properly.

“Old Willy” is on his tour now!

We will celebrate his third birthday in June!
All other 11S are invited.

I’m so pleased the surgery was a success.
We are hoping Willy will make a full recovery from his operation.
You and Mrs Franz need to let him converless.
I prescribe no cleaning for 1 day :adult:‍⚕

No motorbike, just a pedal I’ve down a really really big hill. Like I mentioned before it was a sweeping “S” curve so it made it that much more faster to go around. And yes yes I was very lucky to walk away with just scrapes and bruises.

No, no Paul.
Old Willy decided to clean now.
And his is in the living.
But so silent!
Same when he was a young one. :grinning:

You should remove the plastic cover (pliers) from the middle brush and take a look.
This wheel has to turn absolutely free.
If not so : noise, getting louder and louder.

My daughter and I are a perfect tinkering team.
We were cutting trees, repairing this and that.
She is a pharmacist, so she thinks logical and knows about mech things as well.

How do we say here : “The apple doesn’t fall far away from the tree” :grinning:

We will get more than 25C (forecast says)
You all enjoy the weekend.
Greetings to Debs and Charlie and you from the old friend in MĂźnchen!

Welcome to the vacc club!
I got mine at the 27.04.
I am used to these vaccs, doing the normal flue vacc every year.
A little pain at the stitch, next day a little bit sleepy (body is working!)
After this all gone.
Dont worry!
Enjoy the weekend.
The blackbirds in our garden are breeding!
Thats future!

By the way too many clubs here meanwhile.
Cable club, beer club, vacc club!
Seems we should go back to the roots!
Establish an ANKER CLUB
