Congrats! Keep up the great work!!!
Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)
Grats on the new job there , @onstar. I think teaching others to just use software is a big positive as tech scares some folks.
Got the wood work done.
I get my logs in such cages! (beech)
I have many places around the house to pile up the logs.
This year I got some wood from a friend so
all was well filled.
I had to keep some of the wood in the cage
Empty now and I saw up the cage today
The cage is not of high quality, of course, but good for light up.
I saw @ktkundy showed some firing wood at soundcoreâs forum.
May be there are some more family members for our âwood familyâ
For us here in the city its quite difficult to get a delivery.
NO farmer from outside would dare to get into the city with his tractor!
So only professionals come here.
And its a question of quality and price.
Itâs a sunny and hot day here in NC, hope everyone has a good one
Was a leisurely day for us today.
Bike ride this morning stopping at the local pond.
That was followed with some fireworks.
And now Charlie is in bed, yep, time for a couple of beers.
Guten Morgen Paul!
You have always such interesting beers Paul.
Were are those from?
Morning Franz.
These are beers that Debs was given for helping at a charity event.
The Holba is a Czech beer, golden and light flavour.
Walfanger is from Brazil, dark and very rich flavoured.
Paul you are getting more and more the absolutely well known beer specialist here!
The WalfÀnger is great.
From Brasil I know only Antartica, very common like Budweiser in the US.
You see they are brewing mostly German style beer.
You should send Debs to that charity again!
May be she can get some more rare stuff,
telling the others there, that not only the husband Paul is a beerlover.
There are many others taking part, though only virtual! (Lockdown! )
Big hug to âmy familyâ in UK!
Enjoy the Sunday!
Franz
Looks very noble!
Be careful Paul.
Could be some strange, strong stuff!!
âBirra mistura mafiosa .molto forteâ
But were did the charity get all this from?
Break is a charity that looks after vulnerable childre, adults and families.
Debs arranges for herself and a group of people at her work to help when they are busy.
Last month Break needed help to sort through lots of alcohol that had been donated over lockdown. The alcohol gets donated from all over the world and there was 6000 bottles to sort.
They had to sort the alcohol into use by date ranges. Anything that had less than 1 month use by date could not be sold by the charity and is poured away, or as a gift for helping, they could take it home.
Earlier in the year Debs and her team helped sort through golf balls - not as interesting
The next time they have to sort beer, I will show up and help!!!
An âold boozerâ like me is a specialist in those work.
An we can do some âtestingsâ togetherâŠ
But not writing any reviews!
I remember I found an old bottle of scotch which I sold for quite a good sum to a collector.
Got it at the flea, and bought it because the label looked old.
Same is with wine.
But this is really a science.
âSchnapsâ is better will never spoil
To drunk to write reviews Franz.
The strongest bottle Iâve had so far is 13.5% and was a 70cl bottle.
If i get another ill ship it to you, we can have a video beer chat
I know we would have a perfect chat.
Be careful with that strong Bock beers.
The taste fantastic, but never drink it that way you would do with a normal beer.
Dangerous
Even the EUFY Lumi will not help you to find your bed!
And heres a few more of the selection.
This Holba is the premium gold label beer and is 5.2% so a bit stronger.
Thats from Brasil too (Brahma)
The Holba is new for me!
You should have taken over the whole bunch of beers from that charity!
You know, there are some certain beer lovers here in our community
who love some testing
Meeting at Paulâs home.
But sure Debs will âthrow outâ that kind community members pretty soon.
And she is right
You would all be welcome for night of beer, snacks and chat
Only a night?
We will get quarantined there and had to stay for a long time!
