Let’s hope they continue that way @ktkundy.
For the second half I would like to see a repeat of the first half
Weekend activities! (old thread reanimated)
Am I the only one rooting for Italy here?
Yeah
Lol seems like they will go into penalties
Oh my, I very much doubt we will beat Italy at penalties
As I said
I was rooting for Italy cause with love their old guy as well as the laser in England’s last game just isn’t good sportsmanship, but mostly wanted a good game. Great game by both goalies and great game all around
Donnarumma was the hero at the end
Yeah it was a great final to end the tournament
Capsule Max works ok the issue is the technology is for dark rooms, the next house has in the living room only north facing windows so should be darker than our current west facing room.
I like the pack and port as we don’t watch much TV , so long as paint the wall white I can make a temporary packable screen.
Bad value, bad image quality compared to flat screen if you want to watch a lot.
Double brightness of the ASTRO.
I can get a feel for the Astro’s brightness as there’s an auto mode half brightness on the Max. But that’s not the only issue, contrast not as good, resolution not as good. You got your Astro for free so no value for money issue for you but for the price, flat screens are better in everyway apart from they clutter more a room.
I’ll probably do a pull-down manual reflective screen and a tripod mount for my Max in next Chez Geek.
Exactly.
I use the Astro from time to time, watching old films I have stored.
Works fine with an USB stick and an external speaker.
As I have cataract I don’t mind if its not so bright
I don’t own any TV. Mine went to the recycling center years ago.
My wife has one.
What a disaster here in Germany.
We are all more than shocked.
Those poor people who lost their lives.
Those poor people who lost there homes and properties.
The photos are more than shocking.
Today there were heavy rains expected here in the area of MĂĽnche.n.
But nothing happened.
Hope you are staying safe and keeping all areas suffering from these horrible floods in my prayers
We are quite safe in the area of MĂĽnchen.
But its so horrible to see the photos from these totally destroyed little towns there.
And there are still many people being missed.
There are many discussions starting now if this disaster is caused by climatic changes.
Dont think so, its caused by human sins, regulating rivers, draining swamps and building houses on these “new areas”.
Nature comes back.
Here in MĂĽnchen we have huge free areas beside the local river Isar,
so called “inundation areas”. So there are no problems.
It’s complicated. It is not just one thing.
Global warming allows the air to hold more moisture so more rain. Population growth and road building, means when rain lands it lands less on soil which can soak it up, less on trees which can soak it up in the leaves, and more on concrete of houses/yards/roads. The houses upstream thus force a magnification of the problem further downstream. So it is global warming, population growth and lack of investment in water management (e.g. empty reservoirs to hold excess).
Better supercomputers would give better more reliable hints there’s a time to pack and head uphill, but you’re still going to get property damage so long as the notion the answer is concrete and cars.
The choice each person has is do they want comfortable illusion or uncomfortable truth.
Known as flood plain or sacrificial land. If it were to get built on then that water is forced to go faster downstream.
Population growth is one thing the Greens never will accept for the increasing CO2-emissions.
But of course it is.
We, the few Europeans, especially the Germans will safe the world by our
“CO2-rules”.
Its more than ridiculous.
Neither of us may be here to see if this prediction is correct, but I think those flooded area will have people living there soon instead of giving up the land to water. The people who’s lives have been ruined will be asking for better flood protection for themselves, but if their houses still exist, and the water is guided away, then that water not in their houses will simply end up in someone else’s house instead.
In English we call it kicking the can down the street.
