hey Anker team, I was just wondering who I should contact about the item im supposed to be testing. I still haven’t received anything yet.

Seems like there was some delay on it.

ok perfect, I just wanted to make sure. I didn’t want to ruin my chances of being able to test more products in the future. Thank you!

I get that this is my first chance testing I don’t want to screw it up so I’m trying to find the balance of being patient but also not making the mistake of being oblivious :joy:

Envious you get to test it. I feel this type of convergence of product features is the future and will be successful, but there’s so many ways to screw it up, I see the wireless part only works when you press the power button which I’m sure will annoy most. I’m curious how well it transitions between modes of operation.

The feedback and the resulting successor, which would be version 3, would make a powerful solution, the sort of thing I’d just recommend people to simply buy.

Hopefully I can provide a good enough review for you. The power button does seem like it would be interesting. I have a couple powerbanks where you have to press the power button to even use the ports and others that don’t so it always has me either pressing the button when I don’t need to or not pressing it and forgetting to charge

Power button on wired powerbanks, is forgiveable as you connect infrequently, usually once to go from nearly empty to full. But on wireless where it’s more pickup / putdown / repeat frequently, having to press the power button is going to be annoying. I am imagining that is the feedback to improve.

And then whatever else you find to improve…

Sounds like Anker’s having supply / shipping issues right now so reviews 1-2 week out.

@meiscollinj @ktkundy make sure yall went to the testing page and claimed your testing sample, afterwards it ask for your address or where to ship the product too. without which you will be waiting forever

Wireless charging on battery packs is basically a gimmick in my experience so far.

I have a similar product, not from Anker. The wireless charging works fine, but only when the phone and battery are sitting immobile together, or held in a fixed orientation in your hand. They have to be kept there pretty stably - both in a pocket that shouldn’t have much room to move, or in a backpack, etc just doesn’t work. And the extra weight and size makes holding it and using your phone less convenient.

Mine only supports 5W Qi, and compared to the 18W USB-C PD charging it is so slow. I can plug in for 20-30 minutes and have enough for the rest of the day, or Qi charge for the same time and have enough for an extra hour or two.

For my use, a short USB-C cable works better than the wireless charging for speed and convenience. My guess is that will be true for most people. The only upside would be loaning it to a friend with an iphone or something, where I don’t even have the right kind of cable.

I’m not really sure what improvements a Gen3 edition could bring that would change that equation.

Good feedback (from other brand)

The implementation is key.

Hey @jercox we haven’t really spoken before which is a shame. Hope life is treating you well.
Its great you found a combination of mobile charging convenience that works for you.
Personally i love wireless mobile charging and for me thats the most convenient.
I’m very much an outdoors person but not constantly “on the go”
So when we stop at a cafe or pub, being able to neatly and easily drop my phone on a wireless PowerCore to regain 15-20% is a great benefit to me.
I love the idea of not having to take cables on a hike or have the extra clutter and untidiness while sitting in a restaurant etc.
I’m never desperate for power as i charge over night and on every car journey so only ever “top up” if that makes sense.
Have a great day :+1:t2:

I gave such a wireless charger to a friend’s daughter and she is fond of it.
(We don’t have the items here to use)

May be a new customer!
