So what’s the result after un-following Neil? :joy: Are you still getting notifications from Neil or maybe from other members now?

@professor @Shenoy I think your both lucky, you only getting them from one account (yep mine), I’m getting them consistently from x2 accounts with on/off ones from a third…

The USB-C to DC powerline was on the testing page, but it disappeared for some reason.

@Shenoy Yeah I was hoping to partake in my first testing but it seems like it wasn’t meant to be :disappointed: since I have a Macbook. I do know some people who could use this maybe I’ll refer them to it.

I think I’ll apply, I have a thinkpad T440s with the rectangular plug.

It’s only the round pin one :frowning:

Betya someone gets to test and they have the wrong laptop…

Don’t think so. It definitely seems more interesting with laptops, though.

To be clear, this costs in total more than a laptop brick.

It only makes sense if you traveling with a USB PD device of similar wattage.

Started checking on the Laptop models listed… took the example HP ProBook HP ProBook x360 11 G5 EE Notebook PC

This model has USB-C data transfer and power delivery. I got on chat with tech support for HP from the same page and Support confirmed it can be powered USB-C (I hope he understood what i asked)

So why is this USB-C to DC cable needed and why not use the USB-C PD directly? (I am sure many may have this question, this might sound silly / foolish to ask :relieved:)

I have the Lenovo ThinkPad and while the times i travelled have been using Anker PowerPort Atom III for powering / charging it via USB-C PD.

Very valid points! My thinkpad usage has always been corporate laptops. My last one too either their proprietrary square plug or USB PD 45W. I moved to Anker 60W charger for travel, so would not need this cable.

The one before, work let me keep and have it now, does not charge off USB, it would benefit from this cable. But such a laptop is 6 years old, predates USBC and so be a rarer item to spend $ on a cable,

Perhaps the PD port does not support up to 65W?

There are also still a lot of laptops on the list that don’t support PD.
