PowerPort Atom PD 4 wattage?

My laptop stock pin-type charger is 65W and unraveling. hopefully, less than 65W on USB-C will work ok. usually just overnight charging anyway. I will need something for the next trip.

when I asked Anker about lower wattage USB-C charger, they looked at specs and said it needed to be 65w.

the manual says a phone charger will charge it.

60W 3-port would be fine. even 2-port would work. one USB-C and one USB-A.

I see 3 different 2-port USB-C charger, which is best? all seem to have the same specs?:

PowerPort II with Power Delivery
USB C Charger, Anker PowerPort Speed+ Duo Wall Charger
PowerPort PD 2

One of these two because they support 30W output via PD.

PD 1 looks interesting. 30w.

The Atom PD 4 is getting a little bit of interest in our eastern brethren.

It has been “unavailable” for a while, like it was rejigged?

@AnkerOfficial, @AnkerTechnical?

Anker recall Anker PowerPort Atom PD 4 in japan.

They said that this product may overheat and pose a fire safety risk.:persevere:

Uh oh! Good find and thanks for sharing.

Sounds like we might not be seeing it anytime soon.

Wonder if the recall will include US variants as well.

The reason for the recall was that the factory responsible for PD 4 apparently mixed up the initial batch with bad ones having manufacturing defacts and didn’t do the proper control of discarding the bad ones and thus total recall as some customers did end up receiving the bad one and encountered issues. That’s what’s written for the press release.

Good on Anker to do the recalls though.

Sometimes a recall is necessary.
Much better than no recall.
Those recalls are not reducing the good reputations of a company.
It shows the the company has some kind of responsibility .
