That brick seems to be much closer to the plug itself vs somewhere in the cord thus receptical are not blocked. However I’ve seen adapters from USB to various ends not accoiated with the normal three ports

Ones I saw actually used different connectors at the end which comes to laptop and for some reason they always die out. I believe the changeable connector regulates voltage and current probably. Don’t know really how they 're made but I had like three of them from people that brought me “broken laptops” and it was always because they used universal charger that malfunctioned.
The ports are usually the first to go. Any type of movement and it becomes unplugged. I’ve seen here on the community that someone used an Anker Powerbank to charge their laptop. Perhaps Nylon braded cables would be better since the OEM must be kept on a padded room.
