There are options for downloading most of the software so you do not have to rely on the cloud. You can also disable Push updates as well so as not to ‘force’ changes on your system. I do not know how you guys like your personal systems, but I like to use Beta/Dev versions of a lot of software. Of, course I have an environment that is stable so that I can work, but I also have Windows Insider builds, MS Edge Dev version, and with my college email address I can access a lot of features of Office 365, although my college fails to utilize most of those resources which drives me insane!
