Wikipedia is not an authoritative source for any conversation. Again, the term PC references Windows machines.
Mac vs. Windows?
Just to be safe, Iāve updated the topic to āMac vs. Windows.ā
To play devils advocate , the PC phrase might have become more associated both in and outside of IT pro circles with Windows devices but it is an abbreviation of personal computer, which a Mac is. Just as ādesktopā can be used to reference both Windows or iMacsā¦
Just my 16+ years IT veteran logic
No option for a *nix vote? Iām going with Ubuntu! I do like Windows 10 except for the privacy issues.
Privacy issues? There arenāt any that Iām aware of.
You are stuck 20 years in the past then if you are referring to the fact Macs used to run on Power PC components rather than Intel/AMD/Other components.
Macs are even more closely related to Windows PCs now than they ever have been.
I read somewhere that there were some āsnoopingā features in Windows 10 when first released that can be easily turned off. Havenāt messed much with Win10 however so I donāt know if thatās still the case or if they have been disabled by update rollups.
Hmm, I guess I do remember hearing something like that. It was hidden somewhere in the Terms of Service. Call me crazy, but I really donāt care. All of these big companies could have ways of spying on you, but it is what it is⦠I donāt think itās Microsoftās goal to spy on us.
Lol, no they leave that to the FBI when they arenāt fighting Apple
Windows, because it has a more friendly system at the moment of working a long time
I personally prefer MacOS and i wont be back to Windows beside games.
But I do not recommend Macs to everyone, i buy it since i am a programmer i need that Linux like (Mac os is based on UNIX) Terminal and āfreedomā. Also i want to be able to program to anything that i want to and that is something that only Macs let you do, i can make programs to Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android, iOS, etc. without leave Mac OS.
Besides that i still use Windows (10) for gaming and other stuff and they are making good changes lately and thatās really good but they still need to make a more final user friendly OS, for example, i really hate those obligatory updates without ask me permission, since i reinstall windows every 2 months i hate to configure it each time.
Linux!
It predates, suplants.
