It's Here: PowerCore Jump Starter mini!

At $80, it would be nice if it included an accessory, like an air compressor. A couple of years ago, I picked up a competitor’s model. 500 cranking amps, 13,400 mAh, 12/16/19V DC output, and in addition to an air compressor, it also has an all-in-one USB cable (USB to mini, micro, Apple 30-pin and lightning) and a laptop adapter with interchangeable tips…all for $75.

Fortunately, I haven’t had to jump start anything yet, but the air compressor has saved me many times from having to fire up my big compressor, just to inflate sports balls, bike tires, etc.

I realize that no matter how inexpensive an item may be, there will always be less expensive, albeit, lower-quality versions with more bells and whistles. And a race to the bottom, price-wise, isn’t a smart business model. But with other high-quality options offering more for the same price, it may be hard for Anker to get much of a foothold in the product space at this price.

That said, I’ve got some Anker BF coupons burning a hole in my pocket, so I will likely pick up a couple of these as Christmas gifts.

Look out for high winds

I have stabilizers, AKA training wheels for those occasions.

Up to 2.6L…that’s it, man my 4runner is a 4.0L and my cls is a 5.0L not to mention my wife’s merc is 3.5L. I just got depressed :weary:. Was hopeing to get one to keep in the 4Runner, now I might need to look for a plan b

it is only 9Ah, the issue here is it is ruggedized that makes it bigger and harder to keep cool so they had to put in a small battery and make it a flat thin slab for thermal reasons.

@joshuad11 @nigelhealy can’t this charge at Mac book pro at full speed since it has 12v output?

There will surely be a more powerful version coming soon.

No, it does not support power delivery.

You can also remove any rear wheel and tip it that way as well :joy: Reliant on what? A Tow truck?

I’m outta luck on pretty much all of these types of jump starters since I have a 5.0 liter V8 on my Mustang GT. Maybe I’ll carry a full-size spare battery in my trunk instead.

They are extremely reliable as long as you don’t have to turn or go above 50mph

What year is your Mustang and do you have a picture of it?

1994 Mustang GT 5.0 in Canary Yellow. Factory ordered (waited 8 weeks exactly for it) since the color/wheel combination was very hard to find at the time. The attached pic is not of mine itself but from the 1994 Mustang brochure. Mine is exactly the same as in the pic (23 years older now of course) with the exception of the center caps on the wheels being removed (my choice).

This looks great. I wonder if @AnkerOfficial have considered marketing this with the motorcycling community. As a biker and former owner of a 16+ year old bike having a means to jump start is a necessity but the jump starter I have is quite big so a ‘mini’ design would be a big selling point for bikers.

The YouTube, magazine and blog world is pretty big for bikers too so I’m sure they’d jump on it (pardon the pun).

Could you even make a motorcycle specific version with permenant battery leads via an sae connector or something? Happy to chat or test if useful!

You can always use a universal plug for your bike. I actually have one installed on my bike, and I plug my charger on it when I need to. It’s only a few bucks (real money, not Anker Bucks ^^).
