How do you talk yourself into buying something?

The older you get the less stuff you need.

And for me is no need to replace something working fine,
with another thing which is “newer” (not better) only.
You are always seduced by advertising to do so, but I am immune meanwhile! :joy:

I don’t have a problem buying stuff! That’s the trouble. I used to just waste my free money, and then find looking back, I have NOTHING to show for it.

Now, money is tight and every pound has to be accounted for, so each spend has to be justified… No I don’t mean a coffee n :cake:, I’m talking about proper purchases.

Even though our washing machine broke recently, it took 2 weeks of looking, before we made a purchase… In the end found one with 10 year parts guarantee, and cheap monthly payments to enhance, so no bills if it breaks.
Took three weeks to deliver, as that date was free, and sooner was costing more.

Our TV has been on its last legs for 4 years now, and until it actually stops, then that big black shadow is ok! Can still see the picture. lol

No I haven’t. I was going to but the deal ended before I got off work.

For me, if I want it, and it’s a reasonable price that doesn’t affect my savings or my life in that month, I simply buy it.

My girlfriend always ask me the following question: Do you need it or do you want it? When you answer it you know what you should do. But I never listen to her :joy:

I we are philosophizing.
What does a human being really needs, beside of immaterial things.
There is not much the human being REALLY needs!

The problem with this is, then I would never buy stuff from anker! :joy:. Since technically I could win anything from them.

I’m just gonna place the order later. I’m done going back and forth about this…

Four years without splurging, and it’s not like we are talking hundreds of dollars here. Just go for it!

I never was splurging (new word I learned ) my whole life.
Why should I?
Understatement, I like.
But this is not the way of presenting yourself ourdays. Too bad.

“Splurging” isn’t a new thing. People have done it for 1000,s of years.

It’s just growing more and more popular to do so, more often.

For instance, you have both the flare, and the zero. Are both of these really necessary? Did you really need two? Did you even need one in the first place?

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with buying them. I think it was a great purchase . But everyone splurges sometimes

Yes I need both.
The FLARE is for vacations and home use.
The ZERO for home use only of course
(Now listening LvB No 7. (Karajan Berliner Symphoniker) great recording)

And I as an old engineer, I like to play with good worthy things.

No, if we’re talking about what you need to survive, you don’t need either.

I’m not saying there is anything wrong with you buying them…

To survive you need no speakers. Robinson Crusoe had no! :joy:

I am listening to my gut…

But he could have, if he rescued it from the ship

It just couldn’t be Anker Brand, because anker wasn’t founded until much later

For recent last couple of years, I am using Anker products extensively, some I won from Anker, some I bought and these are great buy for the price. Pretty happy with my experience!

Everyone will be happy to know I placed the order.

I’ve officially decided I have mental issues about money. For some reason I feel guilty… but I know buying myself something every once and a while Is fine, so I don’t really care…

:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I wouldnt be happy unless you ordered it as a gift for me …just Kidding

Money is made to be spent, well if you like something and have money, why not spend it ( it’s easy to say when you are not the one paying for it  )
