Surprising to see. Thanks for the people that voted. And congrats to @paulstevenewing @ikari04warrior @Raul_Alexandre On winning as well.
Love that pic!! We had to settle on a generator for our camper. My parents have a few solar panels, and I would love to get some as well. Nothing like free sun power!
Hang on, if the fire is most intense at the bottom and it’s resting on ground, won’t the crushing weight of the side logs put the fire out?
I challenge the engineer. I don’t think this will work.
I’ve seen videos of this in action. Never in person obviously
It needs to be raised off ground with room for the air to get up to the flame and the ash to fall down. Even then, I reckon the crushing weight will make it perfom badly as the heat of a flame is strongest just as the wood is weakest (the air is getting right through it).
Darn it, I’m being a geeky engineer (again)
I believe this is the video I watched. It’s quite interesting
Genau!
Campers and BBQ-ers should give that construction a test.
Not sure if it works.
I would dig a hole under it so that the ashes could fall into
and add a “grate” (hope thats correct) over that hole.
But how the fire could kept so small not touching the other trunks?
Should we try to make a better construction?
Not a very good “burner” account
This comment though ^
Grats to the winners…I do not even remember this thread. Lolol
