It seems to be more of a place for people to complain than discuss. The site itself is very broad when it comes to categories in the drop down, so it causes topics to be put under a number of areas instead of condensing. It is very difficult to traverse around as well as there is little explanation for some categories as well as 0 information about notes/points, levels, how to earn, why someone should even care to do so, etc.
The interaction from staff is more direct/informative, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it becomes a very dry interaction fairly quickly. Prior to mods being chosen (which took around 2 months to do) there was a lot of posts that were either negative or entirely off topic.
All in all it seems like it has potential and in no way am I downplaying the efforts of anyone associated with it. Similar to how Soundcore started off to where it is now, there is a lot of work that needs to be put into it to have its change from a forum to an actual community.

Ahh. You get out what you put in. This community had active experienced light-touch moderators from the start, and an active admin at the start.

Yeah, but I’m doing tech support for a few months helping the hospital switch over their EMR system. Means business casual and sitting behind a computer 8 hours a day.

to answer your question before your edit I am studying computer engineering and I found all of your previous points extremely valid. I truly hope they announce soon just to get this over with to be completely honest. The time zone difference really does play a lot when I woke up in the morning it was already into the two hundreds. But the longer we wait the longer this thread slowly trickles closer to 4,000.
