We’ve evolved to better handle human speeds of injuries. Our bones are specifically tuned to be just strong enough so they break to protect otherwise tendons being torn. As 99% of species extinct, we’re the descendents of those who managed to survive via many useful mutations.
One of these mutations was we have empathy, social care, families, so we can heal without starving. The gene for caring for others was passed down in the kind acts long forgotten.
