I was biking east to west one cooler day such as you get on bonfire night and it began to rain, the wind pressed my waterproof against my chest and I got soaked, shivering, biked past an outdoors shop so went in showing the problem, the guy Jon explained and I walked out with a garment - Paramo Velez - and even though I was soaked, I got home dry so it dried me out. Magical stuff. Not available in USA, I have to explain to the local REI store.
Some things transfer UK-> USA but not always, sometimes for good reasons, not always. Next in UK in February and I will land wearing this which i got in black in an earlier London visit. Overseas visitors can claim the tax back, ask in store.
