I set up my floodlight yesterday. Mostly good, main issues so far;

  • google home hub struggles to display a live feed. It takes a few minutes display a still image and that’s about it. Does anyone else have this issue?

  • it’s a shame there is no Apple TV app, any plans to release one?

The box looks like a regular electrical box. I am pretty sure you can unscrew the part that holds the light and install any regular part from home depot on it.

OK, this is a fantastic product I think. I do have a question regarding the sensitivity though.
It seems that at night, it is triggered by headlights in the street adjacent to my driveway but the street is not in the Activity Zone. I even made the Activity Zone be quite far from the street. The street is barely visible in the camera view. I’d say it’s at the left upper edge probably 5% of total screen. I set the Activity zone to be the bottom 30% of the screen so really far away. I have the sesitivity set to 2 (at 1, it misses a lot of alerts).

An additional suggestion for a fix. If I have a schedule set and the light goes on as scheduled but then the power goes off when it goes back on, the schedule does not trigger. The light stays off. Please fix that. Same if I manually turn light off/on through the app. The schedule does not re-enable.

They are hardwire. You can not remove them.

I am pretty sure you can, if you loosen up the adjustment nut, the whole arm pops out. You can then cut the wire and attach it to a different arm from home depot. You’d need to be handy to do it but it is doable.
Another approach would be to buy a standard LED floodlight that has an additional attachment point for a sensor and install the camera on that. I mean any of these approaches would be necessary if the light bulbs fail.

I don’t have an existing junction box. Can you recommend one that I can buy mount over the garage?

I’ve started looking into the cameras bits since I’ve got my house. And I wanted to check where are we in terms of getting the support of homebase added to the floodlights setup.
Thanks
Rob

I have just installed 2 Eufy floodlight Cams. The app has Geofencing (beta)…I can select and position Geofencing, but when I try to save it says “Failed to instal Geofencing”…In addition, the Cams that I have are listed as Geofencing, and notifications alter accordingly, but the camera does not alter from on to off or vice versa. Is there something I can do to make this work the way it should?

We do have plan to support integration with eufyCam HomeBase. So that user can backup their data to the HomeBase, which has 16GB local storage. This feature is under development and we are trying every best to release it by the end of 2019.

It’s almost 6 months later. When can we expect Floodlight cams to backup their data to the Homebase?

I’m not buying them until they do. Otherwise, thieves can just rip the camera off the wall and take it and the recordings with them.

I am in the market for a hardwired IP Camera + Smart Home integration and had a few questions about the Eufy Security Floodlight Camera:

We want to use this camera to keep an eye on the kids for area of the backyard which isn’t visible from our living room. I don’t necessarily need the light but prefer an option which is hardwired to 240v so i don’t need to worry about camera battery changes or power transformer packs. The camera location is to be mounted on a exterior post and is directly exposed to high winds and rain. We currently have an outdoor 240v light fitting in the position for the last 7 years that i’d be replacing with this device.

Based on this my questions are:

  1. Is it possible to view the camera live stream at any time via the iphone/android App?

  2. Can the camera live stream be streamed to a Google Android TV (Sony Bravia) or Chromecast?

  3. Is there any considerable lag on the camera live stream (I read the Arlo lag can be more then 30 seconds behind what is happening in real-time). Thus would be for viewing on the App or via the Chromecast/Android TV.

  4. What are the LED light specs (i.e. color temperature 3000K? 5000K?) Is the LED colour temperature configurable?

  5. Would it work to install this light onto a circuit with a wall switch - and just leave the switch ‘on’ permanently?

Thanks

  1. Yes it is
  2. I haven’t tried, but the FAQ says yes.
  3. Very minimal if any lag on the live streaming
  4. Not configurable. Not certain on the temperature
  5. Yes - This is how I have mine.

Thanks.

Does anyone have the size of the mounting template (profile of the junction box which connects to the wall)?

are there any news regarding floodlight cam <–> homebase 2 support?

@AnkerTechnical What’s the update on when Eufy Floodlight Cameras will work with Homebases?

I’m also waiting for this to buy them. Is there any option to arm/disarm homebase 2 and 2 floodlights with a keypad? And do that in the app without doing that individually?
