I don’t need a leader either but we can’t change the societies we live in today.
Apple is asking employees to work from home over coronavirus concerns
So why are you talking about such a “leader”?
More than confusing!
But I give up.
Too sophisticated for me!
I get your points @professor
But a couple of things to throw into the mix.
The news reports cases of people contracting the virus for a second time.
The pass on infection rate seems to be 1.3.
There are more infected people than the news tells us.
Due to her working location and business my other half was informed of local confirmed cases 2 weeks before they made the news.
But like all flu cases it will come and go.
Next year everyone will be getting it and no one will think twice about it as the medical world would have worked the vaccine in with the standard flu vaccination.
There’s only an antigen test not an antibody test .
So yes you can test positive twice as you get exposed to it a 2nd time. If the second time your immune system is knackered there will be a period feeling unwell again.
But more likely is one of them was a false positive or false negative.
Agree we’ll get to high immunity naturally and then via a vaccine next year.
I’m more worried about how we feel after this. Those who panicked will take their overreacting into a skepticism of advice the next time and underreact next time. Of the 80% who have mild symptons, the subset of them which panicked and thought zombie apocolypse which never was, then next time do the opposite.
Just wash hands and if show symptoms self isolate and contact your applicable medical services.
We have been told here that people > 70 old are very exposed!
I am 69!
I AM OUT OF THE GAME!
I will survive! … hope so!
69 years and 364 days and you would be safe.
1 day more and you need to be checking your life insurance policy
Yippee turning 70!
Now its officially declared as a Pandemic
Yeah, saw that earlier. Finally they thought it’s not just another small flu.
This was evident from the beginning of this pandemic disease.
And it will get much more serious and worse, indeed.
The number of infected people will increase exponentially.
But the worst thing would be, if all get panicky.
Stay calm, have a beer, this keeps the throat clean!
Just had lemon lozenges for throat ( no beer for me)
Correct, this will increase exponentially for approx 2 months and then drop off. Basically it runs out of people to infect, as immunity kicks in. As it doubles in a week, there will be a week when half of us get it, so those who get it first and then feel better have to then care for those who get it last. As the unwell period is 2 weeks, we do need to flatten the peak with hand washing so there’s enough well people to look after the ill people.
There are only two viable personal strategies, either exist isolated from rest of world for a year, with the odd resupply trip wearing basically a hazmat suit, or accept you’re going to get it and relax in the inevitability.
Stress lowers the immune system, so … the chilled will emerge proportionally.
This is my vision of Franz waiting…
Yes, just relax, stay healthy
BBC News - Coronavirus: Trump suspends travel from Europe to US
of course any scientist can tell you that the USA has been doing far less testing so can easily have far more infected, and as USA lacks free social care, ill people have more to lose when ill so many will be at work while ill. So USA may be already highly infected, more than Europe.
