As so.eone who.worked in a call center for 8 years, and other similar roles, I can tell you for 100% certainty… product training is a waste of time, and only about 22% of the knowledge given out on these course is retained by the best.

The rest is learned slowly over a couple months, and that’s only by the better members. Most team members hold on to about 12% product knowledge … Call any companies customer support number! Most will scour the the company pages to find an answer, some have check sheets (FAQ sheet made by themselves), but some really good members, just know it.

Training sessions should only ever be in 15-20 minute segments spread over a week. The average human can only retain this learning at this level, the rest of the time of each day is a waste.
